To the Editor:
My name is Jason Graham, and I am an Army veteran. I deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, between 2006 and 2008. I was an emergency room (ER) and flight nurse in Baghdad (Baghdad ER).
I graduated from Nurse Practitioner School at Wilmington University in 2018, and saw an article and picture that the Herald ran on opioid overdoses in Cape May County. I believe the article was titled, "No One is Alone," and had empty white chairs symbolizing those who had lost their lives to overdose in Cape May County (http://bit.ly/2rLcovl).
This picture and article inspired me and a fellow veteran, Dr. Daniel Francis, to open South Jersey Medical Associates (SJMA), which specializes in office-based addiction therapy. After opening, I can't tell you the fulfillment I have attained once again, and feeling like I am making a difference in people's lives.
Hopefully, SJMA can stem the tide of those losing their lives to this affliction in our county. No one will be left behind.
