Letters to the Editor 2019

To the Editor:

This upcoming election will feature many important races over several levels of government, including one in Middle Township for Middle Township Committee. I suggest to all the residents in Middle that they vote for a young man with new and innovative ideas for our municipality, and that is Jim Norris.

Norris has been a community activist and volunteer in our town. He was my son’s volunteer soccer and basketball coach while my son played for the Middle recreation department.

He works as a job developer at a local non-profit and works with disadvantaged communities. He helps these people start new careers locally. He also coaches high school baseball and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Experience wise, Norris is a member of the Middle Township School Board, where my son attends. Since Norris was elected, the school board has overseen many new programs in our school district. Norris’ efforts and leadership on the school board should be commended, and I appreciate him taking the leap to run for committee.

Norris' plans for our town are innovative, and just like his campaign slogan says, put Middle Township first. He has pledged to a 0% increase in taxes.

He will change the township ordinance on the dumping of dredge spoils so Middle stops becoming a dumping ground. His support for a change of government will give all of us a say in our town.

His stance on recreational marijuana is comforting for me as a parent. Finally, his support for our Sheriff Robert Nolan and his fight against Trenton is exactly what we need from a committeeman in Middle Township.

Overall, I am very impressed with Norris as a candidate. He represents something different in politics, something genuine. He truly cares about this community and the people who call Middle home.

I am proud to put my support behind him Nov. 5, and urge everyone else to do the same. Let’s finally put Middle Township first. Vote Norris for Middle Township Committee.
