To the Editor:
What is going on in people's minds that they think it is acceptable to bring dogs into supermarkets and eating establishments?
I am an avid pet lover. As a matter of fact, I prefer pets over most people, but I do not necessarily want pets around my food, other than my own pet.
My biggest question is who is responsible to clean up after the dog if it relieves itself in the market and/or restaurant? Most pet owners that I have seen don't even bother to clean up after their pets outside.
I think that it is wonderful that many of the towns have become more pet-friendly, however, I still think that there should be limitations as to where they are acceptable, other than service animals.
Should we next be accepting of horses, pigs, etc. walking through our supermarkets or sharing our restaurants with us? Why is it so wrong to ask people to leave their pets at home, where they are safer and most likely more comfortable?
