PETERSBURG – The Upper Township Committee recognized public works employee Andrew Mangam at its Sept. 27 meeting.
The committee designated him as the third quarter winner of the Upper Township Safety Award Program.
Mangam was praised for addressing a situation with live electric wiring at school premises.
Repairs were being done at the site with a public works crew at the time. Mangam potentially saved these crew members’ lives as well as equipment that could have been destroyed. He was recognized for preserving overall safety in the dangerous situation.
