COURT HOUSE - May 20: Cape May County reported nine new COVID-19 confirmed cases today, along with the death of an 85-year-old woman, from Dennis Township.

The woman was a resident of a long-term care facility. Almost 80% of the county’s COVID-19 fatalities have been associated with long-term care locations.

The new cases included three each in Middle and Upper townships, along with one each in Cape May City, Dennis Township and Wildwood Crest.

The total number of active cases in the county is 218. The number of individuals who have been removed from quarantine grew to 260. Total county cases since the first one was reported March 18 are 539.

State hospitalizations continue to decline. The state’s 71 hospitals report 3,405 COVID-19 cases, of which 750 individuals are on ventilators.
