WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Police were involved in an incident which sent Wildwoods schools into a lockdown Dec. 16, Wildwood Police said.
Just after 8 a.m. all North Wildwood and Wildwood public schools, as well as Wildwood Catholic Academy, issued a shelter in place directive, out of an abundance of caution, according to police.
North Wildwood Police Department said they received a call from a staff member from the Wildwood Public School District advising of a suspicious male in the area of the St. Simeon’s and Glenwood Avenue Elementary Early Childhood Annex, located at 25th and Central avenues.
The incident was investigated by the North Wildwood and Wildwood Police Departments who located and spoke with the subject involved, police said, adding further investigation revealed the incident did not warrant charges.
Police said the shelter in place directive was lifted from the schools at approximately 8:35 A.M.
