N. Wildwood Police Charge Local Man in Jewelry Burglary

NORTH WILDWOOD — Police arrested Ryan Johnson, 33, of North Wildwood and charged him with burglary and other offenses related to a report of jewelry stolen from a private residence.
On Aug. 25, North Wildwood patrol officers responded to a residence near 9th and Central Avenues, where they found signs of a forced entry. Officers learned that several pieces of jewelry valued at over $1,500 were stolen from a bedroom while the victim was not home. 
After an investigation by Detective Justin Melo, Johnson was identified as a person of interest in the burglary. 
The next day, Aug. 26, Sgt. Jerald Garriott and Sgt. Bryan Skill spotted Johnson riding a bicycle near 26th and New Jersey avenues, where he was stopped and placed under arrest.  
Johnson was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief. and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was subsequently transported to the Cape May County Correctional Facility after being placed on a warrant in accordance with State of New Jersey Criminal Justice Reform guidelines.
Any charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
