COURT HOUSE - A Cape May County grand jury handed up 11 indictments Aug. 20.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Lorye L. Craver
Lorye Craver, of Ocean City, was indicted on four counts of unlawful theft or receipt of a credit card, each fourth degree, and one count of third-degree theft. With one of the cards, taken from four separate individuals, Craver charged food at a pizza place between July 7-9.
Thomas Edger, 34, of Wildwood, faces a third-degree count for terroristic threats and a fourth-degree count for throwing bodily fluids at a Wildwood police officer.
Tyler L. Cosmo
According to the indictment, Tyler Cosmo caused serious bodily injury to the victim of a motor vehicle crash while driving under the influence in Upper Township. Cosmo was indicted for third-degree assault by auto and second-degree aggravated assault.
Calvin Turner, John M. Dyes, David Thorp, Ashley L. Buchannan
Calvin Turner, 30, of Gainsville, Fla., John Dyes, 44, of Rio Grande, along with David Thorp, 52, and Ashley Buchannan, 23, both of Millsboro, Del., all face three counts of third-degree possession of a CDS. The drugs were heroin, methamphetamine, and amphetamine. Dyes was wanted as a suspect in a theft and faces a count of third-degree theft. The four were arrested following a motor vehicle stop in Wildwood in April.
James A. Walters
James Walters, of Middle Township, was indicted for theft and issuing bad checks, both in the third degree. The indictment said Walters wrote a check for $1,754 on the account of a home improvement company that he knew the bank would not honor. In February 2018, Walters was indicted for offering home repairs without registering with the state Department of Consumer Affairs.
Brent D. Woods
Brent Woods faces three counts of burglary, each in the third degree. Woods illegally entered three automobiles in Middle Township July 5.
Christopher A. Sexton
Christopher Sexton, 31, of Villas, was indicted on two counts of possession of a CDS, third degree. The drugs were methamphetamine and heroin.
Robert A. Tigro
Robert Tigro, of Sea Isle City, faces third-degree counts for resisting arrest and making terroristic threats, along with a fourth-degree count for throwing bodily fluids.
Jeffrey J. Kern
Jeffrey Kern, of Dennis Township, was indicted for aggravated assault, third degree, and criminal mischief, fourth degree.
Franklin Moore, of Wildwood Crest, faces a single count of third-degree aggravated assault. According to the indictment, the assault met the definition of domestic violence.
Luis G. Perez-Barrios
Luis Perez-Barrios, 38, of Wildwood, was indicted on two counts of possession of a CDS, heroin and methamphetamine, along with one count of possession with intent to distribute. All counts were in the third degree.
