Tree Uprooted

A 65-foot pine tree in Dennisville was uprooted April 13, by severe storms in the county. A tornado watch remains in effect until 6 p.m. and a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 4:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 3:40 p.m. April 13, in effect until 4:45 p.m.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Kent County in central Delaware... Atlantic County in southern New Jersey... Cumberland County in southern New Jersey... Salem County in southern New Jersey... Ocean County in southern New Jersey... Camden County in southern New Jersey... Gloucester County in southern New Jersey... Northern Cape May County in southern New Jersey... Burlington County in southern New Jersey...  

* Until 445 PM EDT.  

* At 340 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Swedesboro to Quinton to near Woodland Beach, moving east at 60 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.  

* Locations impacted include... Toms River, Vineland, Atlantic City, Millville, Bridgeton, Ocean City, C umberland, Cherry Hill, Evesham, Chester, Deptford, Voorhees, Medford, West Deptford, Barnegat, Pleasantville, Glassboro, Lindenwold, Hammonton and Bellmawr. People attending Covid-19 Drive through testing should seek safe shelter immediately! This includes the following highways... Atlantic City Expressway between mile markers 0 and 44. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 27 and 88. Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 5 and 34. New Jersey Turnpike between exits 1 and 3. Interstate 76 in New Jersey near mile marker 0.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for central Delaware...southern New Jersey...and southeastern Pennsylvania. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
