1 Airlifted, Multiple Injuries in Dennis Crash

NORTH DENNIS – A three-car accident on Route 47 required one patient to be airlifted Aug. 9.
The crash, near Holly Road around 7:16 p.m., involved multiple patients. One individual was trapped inside one of the vehicles, according to a post on Dennis Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page.
Dennis Fire had multiple units ready to respond and arrived on scene within three minutes. They extricated the entrapped individual with the Jaws of Life in four minutes.
Ocean View Volunteer Fire Company also responded to the accident. They set up a landing zone at Union Cemetery in South Dennis where the one patient was transported via helicopter. Several more were injured and transported to area hospitals via ambulance.
AtlantiCare paramedics and Inspira paramedics responded. The area is policed by the New Jersey State Police. Members from the Woodbine Station were on scene, and they continue to investigate the accident.
Route 47 remained closed for an hour as crews cleared the road of debris.
