It’s rare to see an Eastern Spadefoot toad in Cape May County, then again, it’s rare to see a Spadefoot toad anywhere, despite their habitat range east of the Mississippi River from Florida to New England.

Middle Township Mayor Michael Clark announced that Middle Township has scheduled a free rabies clinic for Sept. 29, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Middle Township Public Works, 400 W. Mechanic St. in Court House.

The new law, (S-1640) would make it a violation of the State animal cruelty laws to leave a cat, dog, or other domestic companion animal unattended outdoors without proper shelter for an extended period under certain conditions.
