SOUTH DENNIS – Friends and local businesses are coming together to organize a benefit for a local family displaced by a May fire in Dennis Township.
Kim Sophia Enteado and her family have been out their home on Robin Drive in South Dennis since a fire damaged much of the home May 4, said Marie Borella, one of the event’s organizers.
“Kim and her family have been living with a family member until last week when they were finally able to get a rental property,” Borella said.
“She left the fire with not much more than the shoes on her feet. It’s been tough for them,” she added.
Borella said that while the family had insurance on the home, the damage is beginning to exceed the limit the coverage provided.
Enteado is a hostess at the Lobster Loft in Sea Isle City, and friends and co-workers felt that nearby La Costa Lounge was an ideal location for a fundraiser to help Enteado. La Costa Lounge and the Lobster Loft are both owned by local businessman Jim Bennett.
The benefit, scheduled for July 26 from 5-8 p.m., will feature draught beer, wine and a buffet, as well as a Chinese auction.
“A number of area businesses have stepped up to make donations for a Chinese auction at the benefit,” Borella said. “The response from businesses, so far, has been very positive.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased at both La Costa Liquor Store and Lobster Loft.
