Columbus Day Parade Scheduled for Oct. 7

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – The city’s Columbus Day parade will be hosted by Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his family Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. The parade will begin in front of the Sea Isle City Italian-American Club (next to the Sea Isle Boulevard Bridge) and will run east along JFK Boulevard to Landis Avenue and then turn south on Landis to 63rd Street.
The parade will feature “2017 Italian Royal Family.” Spectators will also see representatives from the Knights of Columbus Madonna Maria Council and the Sea Isle City Italian American Club, as well as the Ocean City High School Marching Band, local veterans, scout troops, local businesses and pageant winners.
Municipal and county dignitaries will be in the parade, as will Sea Isle City’s police, ambulance and fire departments and the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department – including Dodge the horse, McGruff the Crime Dog and Eddie the Eagle.
When the parade ends at 63rd Street, the fun will continue at the 2017 Italian Festival, which takes place Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., where festival-goers can enjoy great food, merchandise vendors, live music, free raffles, a cannoli eating contest and other entertainment.
