Cape May County Library Announces September Events for Children

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following events for children during the month of September.
4-H Cloverbuds Youth Development Program
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 5-8, to register for a workshop hosted by Cape May County’s 4-H Foundation. The program will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20. It will take place at the Lower Cape Branch library, located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Children ages 5-8 are invited to a workshop hosted by Cape May County’s 4-H Foundation. Each month, there will be hands-on activities to introduce children to a wide variety of 4-H project experiences. Parents and guardians encouraged to attend with their children. Pre-registration is required, please call the Cape May County 4-H Office at (609) 465-5115.

Art @ the Library in Cape May!
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-10 to Art @ the Library presented by the Cape May Center for Community Arts. The program will take place at the Cape May City Branch Library Sept. 28 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. The Cape May City Branch Library is located on Ocean & Hughes Streets in Cape May.
Children ages six through ten are invited to enjoy Art @ the Library. Activities combine literature and art where children read a book and create a work of art using a variety of media and styles. Parental participation is welcomed. These programs are presented by the Community Center for the Arts. For more information, call (609) 884-7525.

The program will take place at the Wildwood Crest Branch Library Sept. 25th from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The Wildwood Crest Branch Library is located at 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest.

Annual Cape Con Event  
The Cape May County Library invites children, teens, and adults to join us at a free comic convention called Cape Con at Sea Isle City Library. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Sea Isle City Branch library located at 4800 Central Ave in Sea Isle City.
Join us for an afternoon filled with geeky fun! We will have a Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament, a presentation by Pokémon voice actress Michele Knotz, a comic workshop with local illustrator Julia Mills, face painting, crafts, a cosplay contest, storytime, and more! Family Dance Party
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 2-5, and their caregivers to attend a Family Dance Party to be held Sept. 14 at 10:00 a.m. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Kids ages 2-5 and their caregivers are invited to come show off their dance skills at the Court House Library! Put on your dancing shoes, bring your family, and join us for a fun interactive program featuring music, movement and more!

Family Movies
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-12, and their families to attend our Family Movie programs. The screening will be at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Lower Cape Branch of the Library, located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Kids, ages 6-12, and their families are invited to watch this month’s featured film on our big screen with surround sound! Watch the movie, enjoy snacks and drinks, and relax for free at your library! This month’s filmis rated PG.

Kindness Club
The Cape May County Library invites kids ages 7-12 to join our brand new Kindness Club! The club will meet at 6:00 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Start the new school year off right by spreading a bit of kindness! We’ll paint some Kindness Rocks to spread around, make warm fuzzies, and talk about how to act kind. Snacks will be provided. Kids 7-12 welcome. Please register online or by calling the Children’s Room at (609) 463-6354.

County Library Hosts LEGO Clubs
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 5 to 12 years old, and their caregivers to attend our LEGO Clubs. LEGO Club will be held at four of the library’s branches throughout September.
In order to develop a theme for each meeting, we’ll read books to get ideas about what to construct and then bring out the LEGOs and build, build, build! Parents are encouraged to stay through the meetings and build with their kids.

Library Card Sign-Up Month
The Cape May County Library invites children ages 5-12 and their families to participate in National Library Card Sign-Up Month throughout September.
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month! All children age 5-12 who are issued a library card for the first time during the month of September will be entered to win a backpack full of school supplies! One winner per library branch.

Little Builders Storytime
The Cape May County Library invites babies, birth to 2 years old, and their caregivers to a special edition of our Baby & Toddler Storytime held at the Main Branch of the library in September. The storytimes will take place on Tuesdays, Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 10:00 a.m. The Main Branch of the library is located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Come sing, dance, and read stories with us at the library this summer! Baby & Toddler Storytime is great for developing your child’s language and social skills. Storytime topics will complement our summer “Build a Better World” theme. Be sure to dress for mess! Some sessions may include optional arts & craft projects at the end.

Storytime with Miss Anita
The Cape May County Library invites babies, birth to four years old, and their caregivers to Storytime with Miss Anita held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27. The programs will take place at the Cape May City Branch of the library located at Ocean & Hughes Streets.
Join Miss Anita for a special storytime at the Cape May Library! Children 0-4 and their families are invited to listen to some stories, sing, dance, and play. These activities are designed for children’s early social, mental, and physical development.

Right to Read Storytime
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 3-5, and their families to take part in a special Right to Read storytime. The program will take place at 10:00 a.m. Sept. 28. The storytime will be held at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Celebrate your right to read during a special storytime at the library! Kids ages 3-5 and their families are invited to come enjoy music, rhymes, stories, songs, and lots of fun to celebrate Banned Books Week!

Creative Writing Club
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 8-12, to join Writers Rock, which will take place at 6:00 p.m. Sept. 27. The program will take place at the Lower Cape Branch of the library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Writers Rock is a creative writing club for kids 8-12 years old that will meet once a month to participate in fun activities to hone our writing skills and inspire our creativity. Registration is available in the Children’s Room of the Lower Cape Library or by calling (609) 886-8999.
