The Avalon Lions Club made a $6,000 donation to Family Promise to help find homes for families in need in Cape May County.

A check was presented to the non-profit at the club’s September general meeting, held at the Whitebrier Restaurant. During the meeting, Director of Family Promise Laurie Johnson and Family Advocate Kathleen O’Neill spoke of their decade-long relationship with the Lions.

Family Promise helps homeless families living in cars and motels find permanent places to live, and offers financial education to help them move forward with their lives.

Family Promise is one of more than a dozen charities located in Cape May County supported by the Avalon Lions Club. The Lions raise and donate over $100,000 each year to area food banks, shelters and organizations that help those in need.
