The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its men's cross country award winners for October 2019 and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Jake Davis of Woodbine and Ocean City High School has been named the Division III North Runner of the Month. In two meets, he was first on the team in both while helping the Engineers to a pair of top five finishes. A junior, Davis was 12th overall in the men's Silver Division at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 5.
Olivia Martinelli, of Petersburg, coxed the West Virginia University's Varsity 4+ "A" Boat to a third place (medal) finish at the Head of the Occoquan held in Fairfax Station, Va.Nov. 2.
Cedarville (Ohio) University pharmacy student Hannah Schalles of Ocean City, will communicate drug safety solutions to middle and high school students throughout Madison County. Two fourth-year professional pharmacy students, Hannah Schalles and Ashley Sullivan, will present on November 7 at West Jefferson High School in West Jefferson, Ohio.
The following have earned their degree from Western Governors University (WGU). The online, nonprofit university held its 71st (Cincinnati, Ohio); 72nd (Anaheim, California); 73rd (Salt Lake City, UT); and 74th (Seattle, Washington) commencement ceremonies in the spring and summer of this year to celebrate the recent graduation of more than 10,000 students from across the country.
