The responsible thing to do: State of Emergency NOW……..

Don’t wait to evacuate visitors Saturday after they have checked into their rooms…… To wait puts the visitors and the residence in danger….. This storm is coming, it is not an “IF”…. it is a “HOW BIG”!!!!!!

New Moon coming Monday, conditions are ripe for flooding, road and bridge closings… If you come you may not be able to get out.

For your safety and mine, please stay home till Monday…………

STONE HARBOR – Strolling musicians performed for a sizable crowd, which gathered Thur., May 24 to observe local history in the making at 9601 Third Avenue.

That event was the unveiling of The Reeds at Shelter Haven sign, a precursor to the edifice that will stand, by 2013, same time, as did two former structures that bore the name Shelter Haven Hotel, until 1961 when a motel by the same name replaced it. Time eventu-ally took its toll on that structure and it, too, was demolished.

WOODBINE — They marched, they sang, they wrote, they read, they listened. And at the end of the day students at Woodbine Elementary School learned the nuances of the meaning of Memorial Day and what it means to be an American.

“Do you ever stop and think about all the rights you have?” read eighth grader Asya Murray from her award-winning essay. “It wasn’t always like it is today. People had to fight for their rights and what they knew they deserved.”
