Blah! Blah! Blah! N0 matter what the former nobody says the job is getting done. All three township fire depts. are working together. It was a big morale boost for Erma to drop the know it all trouble makers. It is nice to know these *** won't be on the fire scene's anymore. I hear the membership increased dramaticly since the desicion. I am glad to see someone finally grew a set and ousted the WACKERS!! Job well done Erma,Town Bank and Villas Fire.

Fri, 11/21/2008 - 1:32pm

Look's the educated people at the top are smarter than you. Their the ones that put the all call to work. Maybe, just maybe you might be the one that is uneducated. Not for nothing but there is more than one reason why you are on the outside looking in. Way to go Erma Fire!!

Thu, 11/20/2008 - 9:34pm

Umm this story was about a house on fire right ?

Thu, 11/20/2008 - 9:20pm

I've been Chief, Asst Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, Engineer, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Trustee and Fire Commissioner. I have 100 years experience with 20 years of service. I've forgotten more than you'll ever know. I have enough certificates to wallpaper everyroom in my house twice! I am well known throughout the county fire service. last but not least ..... I deserve RESPECT.... Who am I ?????????????

Thu, 11/20/2008 - 3:30pm

to 12:05am It sounds like you are the kind of person that needs a constant "atta boy" either that or you are jealous of Chief Muller and his accomplishments as Chief. From all the articles I've read in the papers and interviews I've seen on TV, he seems like a really level-headed guy and an asset to our community. I for one am very grateful for what he and all the firefighters from his company do on a daily basis.....Perhaps I am totally wrong on all accounts and your are just an ***

Thu, 11/20/2008 - 11:46am

To ewew & ahah
If one of you clowns were chief in the 90's and you did not institute this program does that make you one of the oig headed ***? Think about it?. And to the other one maybe you should try bullying other members besides the 60yr old + guy. You should have offered to take one of the young guys outside. I wonder why you didn't? Well you have landed in the right environment, amongst equal company. Congrats to the Erma Vol. Fire CO. for finnaly after almost 20yrs of your BS for send you packing.

Thu, 11/20/2008 - 8:59am

11/19 8:47 am I wanted to put something in here but you took the words right out of my mouth. Well said!!!!!!!!!

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 7:04pm

To the former Chief. I have been a member of this co. for over 20 yrs. and the current staff of officers is the best we have had. With the exception of Mr. L#^@r the 90's were a joke. Maybe it was talked about in the 90's but these guy's actualy put it to work instead of talking about it. It doesn't take a genuis to figure out who are. So anyway the nut house needs you more than we do!!!!!!!

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 5:35pm

Hey guys, As a brother Lower Twp Fireman, Ease up on the comments of a certain past chief and member. They'll sue you for hurting thier feelings / slander. Even their wives don't want them.

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 10:37am

To **** & ****:
The township is greatful for the time and effort every firefighter puts in, including the leaders of all 3 stations. Men and women put in many hours a week responding to calls, and training. If the public wants opinions they should ask ANY member of the three fire departments in the township or any of the people that needed the service. The fire departments are always there for the community.

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 8:53am

to the wed 1205 am comment first everyone can type whatever they want here but I dont care what it took to do this if it was done 20 years ago or just started it works and it offers the best protection to the public.

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 8:47am

To the so called "self proclaimed" past chief of Erma Fd. I didnt realize that holding that position for a couple of weeks before being removed NOT ONLY FROM THE POSITION OF CHIEF BUT FROM THE COMPANY ENTIRLEY (for being such a fine educated leader) earns you the right of calling yourself a "past chief". Secondly, I guess that all the fire departments in South Jersey are not doing thier job correctly because they dont have two identical "tone activated idiots" running around spreading thier wealth of knowledge on the fire scene. Its a good thing that mental institutions have a day care programs where you can dress up and play fireman all day. Truth be told, Erma fire has never had it so smoothly with these two foul balls gone. Good Ridddons. Hey, heres an idea, next time the is a working fire why dont you show up so we can collect all your tears and supply the truck with a endless water supply. Lastly, take off your uniform, your shift ended twelve hours ago.........Oh i guess that you didnt learn that in the last hundred years in the fire service. Wonder why we couldnt have a job less that an hour and a half from home, maybe our reputation with everyone in the county predeceeds us.....hmmm Oh thats right everyone else is wrong.......

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 8:10am

To "Wed, 11/19/2008 - 12:05am" another educated person from Lower Township, no punctuation and capital letters for each word. You must be one of those educated people that we should move to the top. Wonder why you are a former chief......

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 12:05am

I Am A Former Chief Of ERMA Years Past This Is Not New We Were Working On This In The 1990s It Just Took These Pig Headed Idiots This Long To Finally Try It Some 10/12 yrs Later. As Far As Mr Muller Goes Well He's Not All U Make Him Out To Be Its Time For A Change Starting With Him & Then Moving Right On Down The List And Get Some Educated Peaple At The Top!

Mon, 11/17/2008 - 11:08pm

11/16 9:19 pm I was just sitting here reading all the praise for the volunteers and came across yours. If PA is so great why are you here? We always have to hear about how someone from PA say, it's so much better there. We put together this agreement after many years of discussion and it is working great. Maybe we are catching up to the times and yes it takes team work to get the job done. But one thing is for sure this not PA and i hope it never becomes like PA. "GREAT COMMANDERS" what a smuck!!!!!!

Mon, 11/17/2008 - 5:44pm

11/16 9:19-
take your ignorant simple mind back to PA where you apparently do everything better. someone congratualtes the heads (aka spokesmen) of different departments for bringing some sense to the area that had been lacking, and you freak out because it didnt go far enough? well, here to make you happy....everybody say thank you to everybody. that way, no ones feelings will be hurt. so beware posters, if you only make one good point, you may be chastized for not making two, or three, or however many pats on the back the disgruntled transplant has-been from Nowhere, USA thinks should go around. by the way, good job from the very bottom to the very top, i was there, you ALL did a great job.

Mon, 11/17/2008 - 12:13pm

to all those people whining and complaining about our fire departments having too much equipment on scene of a structure fire get over it. its the way it should be for mutual aid calls if your house was burning down to the ground you would greatly appreciate having all the fire equipment working hard to save your house. i'm proud to be a volunteer in Erma and darn proud all 3 companies working together

Sun, 11/16/2008 - 9:37pm

I don't understand,I thought the joint fire resonse was working out well. Why would someone complain about there being too much equipment, thats insane.

Sun, 11/16/2008 - 9:19pm

11/15/ - 2:51 ,
commend those three? shake thier hands ?
So they do it all by themselves huh ? all the firefighters and officers beneath the Chiefs don't provide protection ?
They may have planned it out but i'm sure not without the input of thier crews and officers. It takes teamwork to make things work. I guess it went like this, If WE have a house fire call, You send this, And you send this. And If YOU have a house fire, We will send this. and this. Yep Great plan. I can't wait to see these three "GREAT COMMANDERS" and shake thier hands. ohhh and maybe perhaps just throw myself at the mercy of the great minds. Please mutual aide agreements have been around for along time. It's just that these people are finally catching up with the times. The fire Co.
I served with in PA. were doing this years ago.

Sun, 11/16/2008 - 5:56pm

HELLO!! To much too fast!

Sun, 11/16/2008 - 12:15pm

I don't get it. What shot was taken?

Sun, 11/16/2008 - 10:46am

How is that a shot? And maybe more importantly, who is it directed at?

Sat, 11/15/2008 - 4:46pm

Oh Boy!! If that isn't a shot!

Sat, 11/15/2008 - 2:51pm

The residents of Lower should commend Chief Muller, Chief Hilvert & Chief Treon for coming together and making the response work. When you see the three gentleman in public you should shake there hand and thank them for the protection in which they provide. Other areas have tried, but they have not had the sucess. You can never have too much equipment fast enough when life saftey and property conservation are at stake. I hope other areas can learn from Lower.

Sat, 11/15/2008 - 11:30am

Once again, GREAT job Townbank, Erma, Villas, and Cape May City for the quick response. People of the township should be proud of their fire companies and their personnel. Job Well Done!!!

Sat, 11/15/2008 - 9:11am

How is that a code enforcement problem? Isn't that the health department department?

Fri, 11/14/2008 - 7:25pm

yet another fine yob by all departments involved. keep up the good work lower/cape may

Fri, 11/14/2008 - 6:22pm

Hopefully Lower Township code enforcement will not permit this burned out hulk to sit and fester as long as the ("Guma Pies"!) house on Breakwater.

When this officer was hurt the PD was handling a call that two black males with guns took the residents who came home inside at gun point and robbed them, I think we can all clearly see things are getting worse. More of the scum bags are moving in to our town, I know the Police are doing a great job, we all need to realize they also handle so many of the non emergency calls. There is no way anyone would even consider downsizing the Police, I have lived here for many years and want to see more officers hit the streets. We need to keep our town safe, realizing every town, every county has problems they all have drugs, theft etc. The point is we need to hit it head on, we need to put these scum bags in jail.

Wed, 11/12/2008 - 11:40am

Corporal Macomber I am glad that you are okay. Thak you & the rest of the dept. for all of your efforts in keeping us safe!

Tue, 11/11/2008 - 3:46pm

I cant believe it, a disorderly person from the Villas has outstanding warrants and is head-butting cops!!!! Throw the River Rat in jail with the rest of his neighbors

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 4:30pm

I think they are appreciated.Thats a part of the salary, the benefits and retirement they are given.Check it out its not a bad deal.I am not for downsizing or not hiring new cops.I hope whats best for this township will be kept in mind no matter who is in office. This post is not a slap towards the PD.I think we have great officers. They deserve the salaries and everything else they recieve. To say they are not appreciated is ridiculous..

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 1:50am

We live in the worst county in South Jersey and it is growing far worse every day. All this tourist attraction marketing is a waste of money and phony hype covers up the true underside of our small communities, drugs, domestic violence and violent crime usually related to alcoholism and drugs. Those of us who still have money left after paying exorbitant amounts of tax money for shabby and dwindling public services, would do best to head for the hills" to states where it is safe to raise our kids, walk the roads, swim without severe injury, and not hear our neighbors fighting, screaming and partying all night.

Sat, 11/08/2008 - 3:26pm

*** is going on in this county? And we got a guy who is going to cut the POlice force in Lower when he takes office in Jan. Great! God be with you guys in Lower! Get your resume's up to date and go where your appreciated.

Anyone that is from around here knows how the Lower Township police are and if they dont then they are living in rainbows and sunshine... wake the hell up! eVEN IF YOU DONT WANT TO BELIEVE IT, ITS TRUE! MORE THAN HALF THE COPS OUT HERE ESPECIALLY THE "FEW" DETECTIVES WE HAVE. INSTEAD OF BEING LAW ENFORCERS THEY ARE LAW BREAKERS! INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT WHY THEY BROKE INTO THE HOUSE COPS SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR WHO...NO MATTER THE MOTIVE.... I MEAN IF THE MOTIVE WAS FOR DRUGS ...DOES THAT MAKE THIS LESS OF A CRIME???? L.T.P.D ARE CORRUPT. NOT ALL BT MOST. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THEY ARE.... NO MATTER WHO WRITES COMMENTS BACK BECUZ THEY ARE MAD THAT I SAID THAT OR ....... HAVE A REALTIVE ON THE FORCE .....HMM...TOO BAD THEY ARE CORRUPT. I KNOW SO NOTHING...NOTHING...NOTHING.. YOU SAY CAN CHANGE MY MIND...SO WHY WAIST YOUR TIME... I WAS MERELY TRYING TO INFORM EVERY1 WHO DECIDED TO TURN A BLIND EYE... O... AND LET THE COPS KNOW ... SOME OF US ARENT DUMB... WE KNOW.

Mon, 11/17/2008 - 9:33am

IN RESPONSE TO 11/12 YOU SHOULD REALLY GET YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU TALK! THE DETECTIVE WHO YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SUBMITTED TO A FULL DRUG TEST WHICH WAS ADMINISTERED BY THE PROSECUTORS OFFICE SEVERAL MONTHS BACK AND PASSED!!! THEN TWO MONTHS AFTER THAT THE DEPARTMENT ISSUED THERE DRUG TEST, OF WHICH ONE IS CHOOSEN TO SUBMIT TO A STEROID TEST, AND YES THAT DETECTIVE WAS PICKED AND AGAIN PASSED!!!
It is easy to accuse a person and even a police officer, to post comments on the Herald is the stupid way. I would encourage you to either bring your "facts" to the attention of the chief of police or the Cape May County Prosecutors Office. I agree no one is above the law and if a person or officer broke the law they should be charged.
The majority of people on this site are good and mean well, although there are stupid ones who get on, try to speak, make up crazy stories and think people actually listen to them. These are the ones who have been arrested, the ones who do drugs and break the law.

Thu, 11/13/2008 - 1:56pm

Word on the street is this was not a random act.Odds are ,the police already know who did this, and other crimes by these individuals.Prison awaits.....Remember ,don't drop the soap homie

Thu, 11/13/2008 - 11:40am

11/12 4:27
should be given a pulitzer

Wed, 11/12/2008 - 4:27pm

blah blah blah, i love how the police cant just let victims be victims they have to make it seem like they were asking for it or something.noone wants to get robbed idiots..and to the other commenters on here.i go to lower high school and i do hear all the stories of peers getting away with serious crimes because their dad is a cop or their parents got away with crimes because they are friends with cops and blah,blah,blah..all i know is in the last few years.at least two cops became child sex offenders, two or three became dui offenders, one got caught having sex in his cop car on duty with a woman that wasnt his wife, many prison guards are charged with sexual or crimal offenses in this county.come on even that idiot judge who just tried to beat a breathalyzer????hahaha lower township police and county officials are not all bad , but the half of them are bigger criminals than the people they arrest day to day.how many people do you think got sentenced to jail for dui's by the judge with the penny in his lip?? hahaha and i bet you he would've gotten away if it was a senior member of the force that stopped him but i bet it was one of those new young cops who probably didnt know not to get county employees in hot water.... i wonder when the next charade will begin circulating.hahaha

Wed, 11/12/2008 - 11:50am

everyone knows the main narcotics investigator of the township, plays favorits with friends and sold steroids to people out of his gym.look at the guy he'sot veins poking out of his neck so hard they look like they're gonna blow. so give me a break people trick uriine tests all day long. cops are people too they too believe it or not do messed up there lives and others.ive got evidence.

Wed, 11/12/2008 - 11:38am

Random or not, remember home invaders can go to the wrong house. It happens, we see it on the Philadelphia news. The police cannot know everything. We as citizens need to speakup. PLEASE do not turn a blind eye to criminal activity. Call the Lower Twp police tip hotline & report it.

Tue, 11/11/2008 - 11:25pm

Does anyone really think this is a random home invasion in north cape may? The last home invasion I remember here was the apartment on top of the old Butcher Block, and anyone who knows anything about that case knows the motive. As for cops getting drug tested, good luck trying to catch the guys that are supposed to catch everyone else. I would love to know if those tests actually test for all drugs like steroids. Cops do what they do, and for the person who said we don't have enough cops around here, what town are you living in? I drive from here to King of Prussia several times a week and the only place I ever get traffic tickets is Lower Township. Usually it is because they have nothing to do, but look for petty crime like people not wearing seat belts. I really wish my parents were from around here so I could get away with stuff too, because I know a lot of people who get out or should I say never get into trouble because they know some of the Lower Township Elite. North Cape May is the safest part of Lower Township and anyone who would not buy a house here because of crime, is living in another world or maybe you have 10 million dollars to buy a house in Avalon. I believe the Lower Township police do the best that they can, not everyone is perfect and even the President Elect admits to have used drugs.

Tue, 11/11/2008 - 6:49pm

To the couple who wouldnt buy a home in Lower Township, I've lived in the Villas for 15 years and have not come across one problem. If you think Lower Township is disturbing then may i ask where would you buy a home? And to the people who don't know the occupants of this home, you need to stop making false accusations and grow up. There are atleast 4 people who live in that home so thats atleast 4 cars so theres traffic for you. It seems to me that many of you have too much time on your hands and have no idea what your talking about.

Tue, 11/11/2008 - 3:09pm

Childish comments coming from a crackhead no doubt! If you hate cops so much to talk this trash, then why don't you report this cop to the proper authority? That's what I thought I thought! Go back to smoking crack and shooting heroin!

Tue, 11/11/2008 - 12:48pm

to the Fine Upstanding Citizen Kindly speaking of seeing officers doing drugs at a party. Well maybe you were too high on your own stuff at that party and were seeing things. Obviously Socielty needs to apologize to you for obviously your being caught doing it yourself and probably did some time for it. Grow up, get a job, and actually do something to benefit the world rather than saying trash about The people that actually are doing something about the problem.

Tue, 11/11/2008 - 10:56am

Same way Sea Isle public works guys do...surrogate urinators

Tue, 11/11/2008 - 10:18am

Hey "Sun, 11/09/2008 - 9:29pm"

The cops get drug tested before and while they are cops you BOZO!!. Maybe somebody needs to test you; or better yet, knock some sense into you! Sounds to a lot of us here that you are a disgruntled Philly Cop!!! Here's the bottom line Einstein; random home invasions don't happen here with a motive. Give it time tough guy........you'll eat your words !!

Mon, 11/10/2008 - 8:58pm

WHAT??????? How can a police officer smoke pot and do cocaine and pass a drug test? I don't think that is fair to say with out proof. If it is true that's sad.

Mon, 11/10/2008 - 8:47pm

11:31 am, you are wrong, regular law abiding citizens do need to worry. Not only can home invaders get the wrong house, drug activity brings the criminal element. Please, for all of our safety, If you see any illicit activity in your neigborhood, report it to the lLower Twp Police hotline.

Mon, 11/10/2008 - 6:47pm

thats funny that the cops get randomly drug tested and they are all good clean guys.becuse i was at a party last week watching two lower township patrolman endulging in pot and line after line of cocaine.

Mon, 11/10/2008 - 3:55pm

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 9:29pm
Funny thing is you have no idea what your talking about!! These Patrolman are all very Respectable polite guys! if you didnt know they get drug tested randomly!! ppl need to grow up just cause your a screw up doesnt mean everyone else is... I guess thats how you are gotta talk trash on everyone else so you can feel better about yourself!!

Mon, 11/10/2008 - 2:34pm

Since the housing crisis, people have been renting and it is Villas - like now. However, once people can sell again, many of these types of events will be history.

Mon, 11/10/2008 - 12:41am

yeah sounds like th villas moving over to ncm. and everyone knows abou those cops

Mon, 11/10/2008 - 12:39am

wow this town is crazy...but the chatter who said they see all the traffic go in and out.whose worse some kids smoking pot or the psycoes with friggin guns and robbing people? we all know what is up

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 11:51pm

like the person who commented at 3:20 .... young people just getting in trouble....smoking pot , drinking , drugs the usual....any suburb anywhere else has the same stuff...they'll grow up and maybe quicker now than ever, people in the burbs do just hide it better..haha

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 10:41pm

This is what happens when you don't pay up. Everybody who lives in the area knows what "really" goes on at that house. There are no places like that in Philly? Yeah right. Lower is still 10 times better, good luck buying a house in Wildwood!

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 10:31pm

Having a gun at home and restricting what kind of people you allow on your property, has always made good sense to me.A shovel and wall spackle, also come in handy if shots need to be fired.

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 10:17pm

It really sickens me to see people judge succesful, college educated, young men. What is this world coming too? Just because a young man is succesful at a young age does not mean he is involved in criminal behavior. Before making false accusations people should do there research. Them kids are all college educated and go to work everyday. Kids will be kids. But making false allegations against people is totally wrong.!!!...............
Remember when you where in college??I do and I had alot of my freinds stop by my place. If thats what you mean by traffic!!
Educated young person tired of stereotypes!!!

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 9:29pm

DONT JUDGE, UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE JUDGED YOURSELF. HALF THE LOWER TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT IS EITHER ON DRUGS OR USED TO BE WHEN THEY WERE YOUNGER. NOT TO MENTION THE " HIGHLY" REGARDED MUNICIPAL JUDGE THAT JUST RECIEVED A DUI IN NORTH CAPE MAY ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO AGO. WHO BY THE WAY WASNT NOT STRIPPED OF HIS TITLE AND STILL PRESIDED OVER CASES UP UNTIL A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO. EVEN THOUGH HE WAS CHARGED WITH A CRIME AND TRIED TO CHEAT A BREATHALYZER . THAT'S WHY HALF THE PEOPLE AROUND HERE WHO GET INTO TROUBLE GET AWAY WITH THEIR CRIMES. BECAUSE EITHER THE KIDS PARENTS ARE FRIENDS WITH A COP OR A JUDGE , OR BECAUSE OUR PARENTS USED TO GET HIGH WITH THESE " LAW ENFORCERS" NOT TOO LONG AGO. AND HEY, WE WONT JUDGE THEM FOR THAT RIGHT??? OBVIOUSLY WE DONT BECAUSE SOMEONE HIRED THEM AS TO THEIR POSITION DIDNT THEY??? AND JUST FOR THE RECORD NOT ONLY IS MARIJUANA LEGAL IN OVER 100 COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD , BUT IT IS ALSO DECRIMINALIZED FOR PERSONAL AND MEDICAL USE IN TWELVE STATES IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. SO BEFORE YOU COME ON HERE AND ACT LIKE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO JUDGE ANYONE, REMEMBER ALL THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAVE BEEN THROUGH THROUGHOUT YOUR LIVES. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES SOME PEOPLE JUST DONT GET CAUGHT !!!!!

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 6:10pm

That's right 4:28pm, Lower is a pretty nice place to live, play, and retire to. Some parts are just a diamond in the rough...it's all how you look at it...

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 4:28pm

LOWER IS STILL A WAY BETTER PLACE THAN PHILA, CAMDEN, & A.C. TO LIVE AND RAISE A FAMILY

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 3:20pm

The burbs just hide it better. Straight A kids smoking pot and underage drinking in home theater basements and in the cul de sacs in front of their sizable homes. Kids stealing to buy prescription pills. High school kids driving better cars than their well-paid teachers in towns where the property taxes average 15K per year (makes Cape May County a bargain!). Drive-by shootings in developments where dealing is a family-affair. It's all over. Bored young people thinking it's cool. The "memo" goes out to them but not everyone seems to get it. Just look at the alcohol abuse on college campuses. Log on to other NJ papers - Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press, Home News, Greater Media. Suburban PD's are dealing with a rash of home break-ins right now. There's good and bad no matter where you live and play. Change begins at home and change begins in Lower at the top, who have been given the power to clean up the mess. It's about the safety and quality of life of the citizens of Lower, not politics. If property owners are accepting illegal taxpayer funds and illegally renting, time to let Trenton know about it and let the crackdown begin.

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 1:49pm

fear not people....you now have mayor beck to the rescue!

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 1:22pm

Why would no one want to buy a house here , this is obviously not a random act

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 12:50pm

wow u should really know what your talking about ncm occupants are hard working induviduals who were robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Y would u post something like that?

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 11:31am

Regular, law abiding citizens need not worry. From the traffic in and out of that house..its easy to see that.this was a case of druggies robbing drug dealers..

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 11:27am

This joke of a newspaper refuses to post my response regarding the alleged doers, Freedom of the press exists everywhere but at the Herald

(Racial derogatory comments will not be approved -Herald Staff)

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 9:22am

i guess it is about time for the people of lower township to buy guns

Sun, 11/09/2008 - 7:40am

I want to buy a home in Lower Township, but all the crime there is disturbing. I would not pay 2 wooden nickels for any home in Lower Township, my wife is scared to death to live there. The cops do a great job, but there is not enough of them for me to make a purchase on a home. Any one who buys property there must have there head examined.

We have fallen on hard times...

Hang in thre 10/31/08 8:34AM - don't give up. We're not. I just pray LTPD stays safe while they deal with the unacceptable behavior of the drug-dealing, wife beating public we've been reading about. As you know this stuff goes on in McMansionland, too. After Nov. 4th the LT governing body needs to reach out to the municipalities in Central and Northern Jersey. Doesn't take a lot of $$, just some smarts, creativity, vision, and an honest desire to renew Villas. And please dear God, don't assign this to local political flunkies or a firm who donates to politcal parties, but for someone who really knows the rest of the state with no strings attached. Villas is the last waterfront in CMCo that's affordable. (SH and Avalon are touch-much for some of us). I don't want to see Eminent Domain abuse and folks (including seniors) thown out of their homes like in Long Branch (the rest of the affected residents won the war and it's a mute-point now, which doesn't help those whose homes are now K. Hov's Pier Village). Did you notice the Sweetbriar is still in business? Guys in hazmat suits were cleaning out a room yesterday and folks are living in the units. Just lovely! Bayshore Rd. business renewal is a must. Remember10/31/08 8:34AM, God ain't making no more waterfront!! Hang in there...

After I made the mistake of buying in Villas, a friend said "you mean dumpy Villas on the bay". How right they were. I also had a co-worker with relatives in Rio Grande that were referred to as "mutants". So good luck with that non-suburbia environment but I recommend getting an alarm system and a tall fence. LT could hire as many police as there are residents and still have crime. Until the state realizes that lowlifes shouldn't get handouts, there will be drugs and crime. And everyone thought it would get better if only the Sweetbriar was closed down.
