CAPE MAY -- In what might well be an unprecedented opening to the public here May 1 at the Cape May Coast Guard Training Center of military criminal proceedings involving subject matter of the most sensitive kind, Gunner’s Mate 1st Class Wilson Medina faced his accuser, “J.M.,” a seaman assigned to Station Cape May and former recruit under his company command, in an open hearing on criminal charges he had non-consensual sex with him while the two were at Medina's home Nov. 10-11, 2007.

CAPE MAY – A Coast Guard Seaman, “J.M.” testified May 1 that an episode of watching boxing on TV and drinking beer and vodka with his former company commander Gunner’s Mate First Class Wilson Medina turned into something else entirely when Medina reached into his pants and grabbed his crotch.
The incident formed the basis for a Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 32 Hearing on the charge of Article 120 abusive sexual contact against Medina, heard May 1 at the Oceanside Facility at Coast Guard Station Cape May.

CC's are held to a much higher standard (as they should be) then the rest of the CG enlisted force. Anyone that's worked the regiment knows it. He didn't just get there, nor was he a new hat. Alcohol or not - he should've never allowed himself to be put into that position.

i feel really sorry for the wife and children more than anyone in this case. sounds like mistakes were made by both parties, CC's shouldn't have (former) recruits over for booze and pay-per-view and recruits should know better than to take part in such activity. since their recruit training involves the sexual harassment aspects of the CG. and the way this base talks...it's the wife and children who should be thought of and prayed for here.
