Something needs to be done with these maniacs exiting these campgrounds. Also nobody on the road especially the summer people do the speed limit and there are never police around. I travel this road on my way home from work at night and all I see are out of state tags speeding. I agree with the poster that said put the exit for the campground somewhere else it really is a hazard with people pulling out in front of everyone!

does anyone realize that the speed limit is 45 mph...doesn't really matter...no one does the speed limit......it should be lower...too congested of an area now...people running across the street dodging traffic running from Cape May Wicker to the Villlage to the Antique shop...campgrounds were bad enough....someone needs to quickly come up with a solution before lives are lost....

All campgrounds that exit onto route 9 need a new exit plan. Maybe Driftwood could make all exits onto 9 southbound only. A new exit could be established onto 83 for North & West bound traffic. Those campgrounds North of 83 could possibly exit all traffic toward the rear of the grounds onto Kings Highway/Corsens Tavern roads. Making Route 9 an entrance only. I think some such plan would help the traffic conjestion on 9.

No one stops for the yield sign off of 83 and the trailer trash in Driftwood pull right out onto 9 without stopping or caring if anyone is there. I was almost broadsided at the same time the day before. No surprise to see PA tags here as usual they think the rules don't apply to them...GO HOME TRAILER TRASH and TEAR DOWN THESE CAMPGROUNDS!!!!!

"Cape May County market is doing fine"
"The market is great"
What a couple of stupid statements. Go back to waitressing or bar tending. OC had 10 houses sold the first week in August with 1000 for sale. 100 weeks inventory "fine"? Plus 36 taken off the market. We are not fine, we are in a dropping market that has a long long way to go. Actually 13 years. Here is an article for you from Economists in a NY Times article:
"In Ocean City, N.J., for example, inflation-adjusted house prices rose about 1.6 percent a year from 1988 through 2002. Compared with what this rate would predict, the city’s houses in the first quarter of this year were overvalued by 51 percent. Over the previous year, they had fallen 0.6 percent; at this pace, Ocean City house prices will be at the right level in about 13 years."

It is up to us as realtors to let the public know that the real estate market is always a local thing. Some markets may be declining, but it always depends on where you are. Cape May County's market is doing fine. If you are a buyer , the market is great! As for sellers, if you price your house right it will sell. And unless you just bought it, you will make a profit over what you paid for it.

Well i dont know what you all are talking about, but I just bought a 3 bedroom home in bayside village less than a block to the bay and paid 165,000 for it. I intentionally waited knowing that this same house would have sold 3 years ago for aprrox 250, - 300,000 so in my opinion the real estate market has come down tremendously.

UPKEEP, INSURANCE ETC,, NOW YOU ARE UP TO 1 MILLION YOUR PAID FOR A 3 BEDROOM 2 BATH CONDO WITH NO POOL, ITS 30 YEARS LATER AND NOW YOU HAVE TO BORROW OFF YOUR HOME , BECAUSE IT NEEDS NEW BATHROOMS, NEW KITCHEN, NEW ROOF, NEW HEATING SYSTEM, NEW RUG AND FLOORING,, SO WHAT DO YOU HAVE? These are the same idiots that lied to us and said 2008 Q1 sales were up 4%. They were caught by a watchdog group, the truth was sales were DOWN 30%. This story isn't news, this is advertising, and the Herald should treat it as such.

Ok, Realtors, you need to understand that PRICES ARE TOO HIGH for people to afford. Enough with the nonsense and lies about "every market is local" and "the bottom is near". PRICES ARE TOO HIGH and will continue to fall until they come back in line with the fundamentals.

McHugh Students Learn with SMART Boards

OCEAN VIEW — Unlike the dry-erase whiteboards the guy in the UPS commercials doodles on, students at a local school use a more-high-tech version to learn their lessons and have fun at the same time.
Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School in Dennis Township uses SMART Boards, interactive technology that displays a computer image on a large touch screen panel.
When the Herald visited the school March 12, Jean McFadden’s sixth-grade math class was playing math games on the board.

Realtors will always tell you it is a great time to buy. A used car saleman will say the same thing. Never listen to people who make money on commision. They don't have your best interests in mind. This real estate crash is still in its infancy. Wait to buy and you'll be glad you did.

The RE market is not stable; far from it. The market is in a free fall and that will continue at least through this year. It won't come back for three to five years. Of course properties will sell, people need to move for various reasons (job, retirement, death etc.) but the volume will be at historically low levels.
Don't talk to realtors to get a read on the market.

Imagine if it was trendy to like President Bush. Would all of the silverspoon sucking Hollywood wannabes that had everything handed to them support a REAL leader? Or would they continue supporting some guy who hasn't accomplished anything in life other than a few good speeches (that lacked any real content, I might add). This Obama presense makes me ill. How a person of his low charecter and arrogance can be held in such high regard just shows how truly dumb people can be. Like sheep, you're all being led away by mass media personalities in high def.
Wed, 10/01/2008 - 3:47pm
During Oprah Winfrey's trip to Cape May, in particular Whitesboro, I have heard that she promised whitesboro a 1 million dollar grant if the residents vote for obama.she supposedly is describing this bribe as a scholarship. I was wondering if this was true or if anyone else had heard this. Obama will not be good for this country. he believes in black liberation theology. Read his book and do research for yourself. Do not belive the media becuase it is the media.
Wed, 10/01/2008 - 2:34pm
A vote for Obama is a vote for Rezko, Alynsky, Wright, Pfleger, ACORN, dirty Chicago politics and deals with Freddie and Fannie.
Do you really think the founders intended for Obamamaniacs to procure votes on college campuses with absentee ballots? Do you want a person for president who doesn't respect our most important right and responsiblity?
I would like the opportunity to vote for Palin for President.
Wed, 10/01/2008 - 12:34pm
I'm sorry but McCain is old and will probably die in the next year or two. Tina Fey is not ready to be president no matter how good she can see Russia from her front porch. With the embarrassment we've had in the White House for 8 years, it's time we voted for an intelligent, articulate representative for our country. Not the cantankerous old war mongering coot. Vote Obama.

Democrats aren't scared of strong women. And they didn't attack Hillary Clinton. The Democrats simply chose their nominee the same way it's always doen. Sen. Clinton would have been a fine choice, she is a remarkable leader. But the time has come for someone unassociated with the last 30 years of Washington politics to have a chance.
And by the way, Sen. Clinton was hated and vilified by Republicans until just a few months ago. I hope some of you remember all the hateful nonsense Republicans spread about her through the 90s.
Gov. Palin just has no place on the national stage. Give me a break.
Tue, 09/30/2008 - 7:13am
Don't be so sure about that - you probably thought Kerry and Gore would win too. Obviously the rest of the country doesn't agree.
Tue, 09/30/2008 - 6:53am
You may be right. And the powerful radical Left influence in the media, the entertainment industry, and the colleges/universities has a lot to do with it. They have done a disservice to all of us. They have bypassed reporting Obama's radical left connections and pro-Communist upbringing. They refuse to acknowledge Biden's gaffes, errors in judgement. and his excessive spending requests. Obama has never disagreed with his party ... thats why he waits to make any decisions. He has to find out where Nancy Pelosi/Harry Reid stand. The approval rating for Congress is at 12% and Obama wants to follow their lead ? Obama is not their leader, they are his. He is nothing but a great actor who can absorb all of his advisors' propaganda and sell it to the majority. He has almost fulfilled the radical dreams of both of his parents that someday their beliefs would rule America.

ATTENTION REPUBLICANS:
RE: SARAH PALIN
Obviously there has been a HUGE mistake…..
Palin’s Dribble, Weasel Wording, Mush-Mush, ***-Backwards speak Cleary demonstrates who carries the *** trait in her family, because of this we (the democrats) will allow you to send her back to *** without prejudice and select another candidate.
For this consideration the Republicans agree to sell Alaska to Russia (with Palin) and never mention the State of Alaska or her again.
The Democrats
Tue, 09/30/2008 - 2:26am
Mrs. Palin is the best thing that ever happened to politics. Dems and some Reps, I know you guys are scared. She has no problem of axing corrupt and crook politicians.
Mon, 09/29/2008 - 11:41pm
The Democrats are scared of strong women, first they attack Hillary Clinton and now Sarah Palin,New Jersey will not be better off with Obama.
Mon, 09/29/2008 - 7:47pm
More women like her than not.
You seem to imply that Obama will win. Well, Palin has more experience and she didn't have her home subsidized by Rezko and her campaign by Freddie and Fannie.
Mon, 09/29/2008 - 6:44pm
I agree 3:03 pm! When in doubt, notice how they blame the mainstream media...when there is no message to give and your candidate makes an absolute fool of herself on national tv new interview (CBS w/Katie Couric) - blame the media. As a woman, she is against everything I stand for and she is an embarassment to all womenhood. No person in their right mind with the financial fiasco the Republicans have put this nation in should vote for McCain/Palin. BTW, President Eisenhower once stated that "no one over the age of 70 should be president and I should know!" McCain is a hypocrite, worth 200 mil, owns 7 homes and 13 cars...time for him to retire and take that moose loving troglodyte with him!
Mon, 09/29/2008 - 4:13pm
THANK GOD THAT IS ONLY YOUR OPINION BECAUSE PALIN HAS MORE BRAINS THAN ABAMA WILL EVER HAVE AND SHE HAS DONE SO MUCH MORE AS A GOVENOR THAN HE WOULD EVER THINK ABOUT BEING A SENATOR
Mon, 09/29/2008 - 3:03pm
Hold as Many Rallys as you want, Its not going to do one bit of good, Sarah Palin is never going to see the inside the door of the oval office, Mccain and Her are done, the Polls that came out today are more than ever in favor of ''Obama'' winning this election in November, Fact, The Projected Electeoral Polls show Obama Leading In All Swing States,Now Plus Alot Of Woman do not Like Sarah Palin at all
