maybe because Maher had more cops than donohue has. or simply because times are different. either way, keep your retired mouth quiet.

Chief John Maher was the pioneer in this effort. With his vision for the police department has layed the ground work for this accomplishment. Chief Donohue should take lessons from him. Chief Maher had the respect of his men, management as well as the residents, Donohue sends out press releases and complains of limited man power every chance he gets. Why could Maher manage the police department with the man power he was provided, with class and grace. Donohue either needs constant public recognition and/or complains of the lack of officers he has. I don't ever recall Chief Maher publically commenting on this, which makes me think it is Donohue's lack of management skills.

It's about time the Chief is recognized for the job he is doing, no one knows how difficult the job of Chief can be at times, and I realize he will not always make everyone happy, although I feel he is doing a great job. We can all clearly see Lower Twp. is changing and not always for the good, we see the bad people trying to come into our town and the best part we read they are leaving just as fast. I live here in the Villas I see the kids with all the Red Clothing, I read the amount of people being caught with drugs, those being caught breaking into houses and cars. I feel the department is doing a fine job, and truely hope they keep up the good work.
