The Jersey Cape Shell Club presents a display featuring the splendor of shells during August at the Main Branch of the Cape May County Library, 30 Mechanic St., Cape May Court House.

Collector and decorative shells are highlighted in the display along with a sampling of adult and student artistic exhibits from past shell shows. Adult exhibit includes shell flowers, a bird house and an angel created from shells. “The March of the Penguins” and “Bikini Bottom” (from Sponge Bob Square Pants) exhibits were created by students.

The Jersey Cape Shell Club’s purpose is to promote conservation, to provide educational programs for club members and the community, and to generate interest and appreciation of seashells and sea life. Celebrating its 34th anniversary, the club sponsors a five hundred dollar scholarship, produces informative newsletters and sponsors a three day shell show at the Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor the third weekend of August each year.
