Learn to create an herbal tea garden during “Herbal Teas and Treasures,” presented on Wednesday, July 23 at the Main Branch of the Cape May County Library, 30 Mechanic St., Cape May Court House.
The lecture highlights the plants to include for teas when planning an herbal garden. Learn the plants needed to produce ingredients for teas, herb blends and flavored sugars. Add these home grown staples to your pantry and enjoy your herbal treasures year round.
The two part lecture begins at 1 p.m. with “Herbal Tea Garden,” presented by Elaine Shaughnessy followed by a tea tasting using home grown herbal treasures. At 2:30 p.m. the second lecture, “Herbal Gifts from the Garden”, will be presented by Joan Good, author of “Herbed Morsels.” Books will be available for sale and signing.
Elaine Shaughnessy and Joan Good are certified aroma therapists and members of the Herb Society of America. Known for their entertaining and informative presentations, they present a variety of lectures and demos to various herb units and garden groups throughout the tri-state area.
The Cape May County Library hosts this program in celebration of the Key Ingredients Smithsonian traveling exhibit visiting the Woodbine Public Library, 801 Webster Street. The Key Ingredients Smithsonian traveling exhibit is made possible by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
