Back by popular demand, the Cape May County Library is pleased to offer a series of eight weekly classes “An Introduction to Qigong and Tai Chi” at the Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas. The classes will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays, May 7, 14, 21, 28, and June 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Tai Chi and Qigong exercise are simple and unhurried movements requiring no weights, extra equipment, or special clothing. The movements are art forms that can be performed anywhere, at anytime, to strengthen the body and mind and improve each and every body organ. Special ancient methods, yin and yang, are taught to relieve stress and tension (yin training), and qi energy methods are used for power training (yang training).

James Rey, Certified Exercise Instructor in Tai Chi/Qigong instructs the classes. Rey received his certification from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and continues his studies under the tutelage of the Great Tai Chi Master Charles F. Farrell; and as a student of the Global College of Natural Medicine in their Holistic Health Practitioner Program.

There is no charge, however, classes are limited to twenty participants and registration is required by calling 886-8999. Also, a Cape May County Library Card in good standing is required.
