Come and enjoy an educational program presented by The Wetlands Institute of Stone Harbor on Diamond Back Terrapins at the Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 12th.
This is a family program for all ages which includes live turtles! From road kill to dredge spoils, learn about what is going on in terrapin conservation, and how you can help these ravishing reptiles, and why all those turtles are on the roads these days.
The Stone Harbor Wetlands Institute was founded in 1969 by Herbert Mills, Executive Director of the World Wildlife Fund, and is a not-for-profit organization promoting the conservation and preservation of coastal ecosystems by providing a fun and educational experience for families, school groups and vacationers of all ages. The Wetlands Institute’s stated goals are to teach people of all ages the value of wetlands and coastal ecosystems for the survival of life on earth.
