Pilgrimage to two regional shrines

05/28/2008 - 8:15p.m. to 05/28/2008 - 8:15p.m.

Sea Isle City – On Wednesday morning, May 28, the Marion Guild from Saint Joseph Church, Sea Isle City, is planning a pilgrimage to a pair of religious shrines in the Philadelphia region. For those who wish to join them, it promises to be an enjoyable, informative experience.

Their day will begin at 8:15 A.M., when their bus leaves the church parking lot and begins the journey toward Philadelphia. Along the way, the pilgrims will be served breakfast snacks and enjoy the trip in comfort.

Their first stop is The Miraculous Medal Shrine in Germantown, for a walking tour and brief lecture. The group will also attend mass, say the Novena Prayer at Mary’s Central Shrine, and still have time to visit the gift shop before returning to the bus.

Next, the tour will continue on to the Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexil, in Bensalem, PA., where they will again enjoy a walking tour and brief lecture. Since there will be no time to stop for lunch, it is recommended that pilgrims pack a "brown bag" lunch at home and enjoy it on the bus as they travel toward Bensalem.

From there, the bus will begin the journey back to Sea Isle City. Along the way, the group will stop for dinner at Merighi’s Savoy Inn, Vineland, NJ., where they will be given a variety of options from the menu.

The cost to join the trip is $37.00 per person, which includes the bus ticket, morning snacks and dinner. For additional information, contact Marlene McHale, (609) 263-3331 before May 12. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to enrich your mind and your spirit by visiting these two important shrines.
