I am a young voter, just 18 years old, and I am fed up with the bickering from people who cannot get their facts straight.
My definition of good government that ran in the Oct. 5, 2005 issue of the Herald read:
This is in response to a totally irresponsible Spout Off regarding the Cape May Housing Authority, which appeared in the April 23 issue of the Herald.
Regarding the editor’s note on the Spout Off in the April 30 edition about St. Ann’s Church:
Publisher Art Hall blamed environmentalists and “Know Nothing Democrats" for the current energy and food situation in his April 23 column. I'd like to set the record straight on several points he raised.
The Republican Primary Election is June 3. Every registered Republican should vote their individual choices for the local elective offices in this important primary election.
I would like to let everyone know how great the Borough of West Wildwood is.
On first reading, I was sure Art Hall's April 23 column had something to do with April Fools, but it's too late for that.
According to an edition of a local newspaper, the Middle Township School Board’s $20.8 million budget was voted down by a narrow margin, 358 to 346, a difference of only 12 votes. I recall last year it was approved by 400 to 400 and something, another narrow vote.
It’s time for real change in West Wildwood.
We vote and we hope. We hope our elected leadership seriously considers our interests after they are sworn into office.
With last spring's commissioners’ election in the City of Wildwood came a "new anticipation" for a city efficiently run with cost savings and the hope of "new revenues" being generated from means other than the local tax levy which equates to an increase in our property tax bills again.
July 1 will be the sixth anniversary of the Cape May County water study contracted by the New Jersey DEP from the U. S. Geological Society.
Recently, I had to appear in court with a neighbor that I don't get along with. The judge that was representing the court was the Honorable Peter Tourison.
Doesn't anyone wonder what has happened to all of the day boats that scallop fisherman use? Does anyone remember that 20 years ago until very recently that Cape May was very helpful and supportive of the "Day Boat" fishing industry, and the Day Boats helped put Cape May on the map.
Please thank your readers for their generosity.
In a letter to the editor in the April 9 edition by Dan McNeill, it was mentioned “we have no Gandhi to speak for us, no one with the moxie, the guts to champion our cause, to speak for ‘We the people’.”
I read with interest a letter to the editor titled "Obama Won't Bring Change That's Needed."
A newspaper printed a letter on the opinion page from Cold Spring defending Cape Regional Medical Center regarding the April 2 article "patient satisfaction below average."
Given that high taxation and hyper-regulation are driving people from New Jersey, it’s no wonder people flocked to Champagne Island each summer.
Opponents of the war on terror tend to mislead, diminishing our successes. One might think they are anxious for failure, only to blame President Bush. One such misleading Spout Off entry prompted me to correct the record.
What a pleasure it was to have read Art Hall’s lovely wife’s column in the Herald.
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D-NY) has done more than simply getting caught patronizing a high-priced prostitute.
With the state fund crunch talk of new taxes, it’s time our towns and the state take a long look at the money just laying in our streets waiting to be picked up before they further burden us.
The so-called “War in Iraq” is really an American military occupation of a sovereign nation — an obscene abomination that is opposed by a majority of American citizens and voters, including this congressional district.
