$9.00 sounds a little high to sit on the beach and watch.
It could be hot, there could be bugs, you aren't in a nice seat.
I also wonder if the picture is as good as inside. I really
don't think it could be. The drive in's never were as good.
The $9.00 is to high

Big beach, big bang in Wildwood
Features | 21 weeks 4 days ago | Comments 0
It takes teams of workers several days of work and a 150 by 200 foot field to set up the equipment needed for Wildwood's July Fourth fireworks.
Kimmel Schaefer says 22 years in the fireworks industry may have had an effect on his hearing. He can’t hear his wife tell him to take out the trash, but luckily he can still hear the ooh’s and ahh’s of the crowd at a fireworks show.
“It still gives me goose bumps,” he said.

Stone Harbor Council Pens Rules for Dogs on Beaches
beach | 22 weeks 4 days ago | Comments 6
STONE HARBOR –– As the borough’s north end beach becomes dog friendly, dogs were prohibited on the southern end.
Council at its meeting June 17 finalized legislation to allow dogs on the north end between 80th and 82nd streets before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m. while also forbidding any domesticated animals at Stone Harbor Point.
The time to allow dogs on the beach in the evening was changed from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. per suggestion of resident Robert Levins and after much public comment about the beach being busy during dinner hours.

I applaud Stone Harbor's decision - we live in Cape May but will now spend more time in Stone Harbor and consequently patronize the shops while we are in town - all season - not just for a few weeks.
As long as people pick up the dog poop, I don't understand the concern - when you scoop you invariably get the sand it landed on and excise the germs. As far as the urine - urine is sterile and evaporates quickly - it is well documented that this does not cause any health risks. Additionally sand percs really well and most dogs pick a spot near the bulkhead or dune where you typically wouldn't be sitting. And if we're talking about urine - how many children (and unfortunately adults) urinate in the ocean - it happens all the time - the last time I was at the beach in Stone Harbor I heard a parent telling their child to go in the ocean because it was too far to take them to the restrooms. And you put your face in the Ocean! Also, seagulls poop in the sand all the time
In this economy, I think Stone Harbor is smart to appeal to a market other communities neglect!

We are dog lovers and have always had dogs, however I do not want to lay on a beach where dogs are allowed to relieve themselves. We are long time renters in the 82nd beach block. After 18 years, 4-5 weeks at a time, we are done. Shame on you for having no respect for families and young children. We will take our children and grandchildren to a more hygienically friendly town.I never thought that Stone Harbor would lower itself to this level. Thanks for the memories!

My family spends several weeks on 82nd st.This will be the last year.I will not allow my grandchildren to play on a dirty beach nor do I want to sit on it. A shame after spending the last 20 years happily in Stone Harbor.A big disappointment.

I am physically revolted every time I see a smoker flip their ashes into the sand, and put out their cigar, cigarette or dump out their pipe in the sand. I am sick to my stomach thinking that my children are playing in other's ashtrays.
How about the council addressing that issue?

I am sorry I think dogs should not be allowed in the beach. All I can think about is kids digging in the sand where a dog is allowed to do it's doggy business is nasty. I actually am sick to my stomach thinking of people laying around where dogs are now allowed to crap and pee on.
