As in any profession, some work hard. Some skate. Cops are no different than say, nurses or trashmen. Work ethic is not dependent on the job you hold, but rather the person you are.

How come the only people in Lower Township who hate the cops are the bad guys and Mike Beck, and his supporters? How do I know Mike Beck hates the cops? The president of the Lower Township Taxpayer's Association said so, right here on the online forum and she does speak for him, doesn't she? Did she speak for him as well when she demanded a stupid thank you from the cop who came back from iraq?

If they don't post anything, people say you don't do anything. You do post something and they say don't. You go ahead and keep posting LTPD i'm glad to see the people who drag this community in the mud get locked up. I would have jammed that bike up his ***
but unfortunately , Bad guys seem to get more rights than the law obiding citizens.
And of course he won't pay the hospital bill, so that will be on us. If you didn't take him to the hospital he and his family would sue the township if he'd have died or gotten sick.
So yeah embarass him and give the details. Hpoefully the *** will learn from this as well as others who maybe thinking of selling or doing drugs.

Publicizing arrests sends a message to the criminal element that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated. In addition, the public has a right to know what goes on in their community. Thank you to the LTPD for all of the hard work you do!

It's all over anyway folks if Beck gets in. He wants to eliminate two detectives a Captain and a Lieutenant plus four more officers through attrition. His open form of government is to allow the people have more of a say. Like the one who got up at the last township meeting and complained about "Bird Seed". Now the cops have to go after the bird seed Bird Seed Bandit who is throwing bird seed on peoples lawn. She's a Beck supporter. And remember the Cape May County Gazette and how nice that was because it was delivered.....no more. Thanks to one person on the Lower Township Taxpayers Association who is one of Becks right hand men. This bozo who lives in Mickels Run complains about everything. Real Estate Signs, news papers etc. He wants the Township to put a flag, bushes and lighting at the entrance to Mickels Run and he wants the Township to pay for it and the monthly electric along with maintenance. You see Mr. Beck has his people who support him. But they have their agenda also. I honestly hope Beck wins. This way I can get up at every township meeting and publicly bash him every time there is a break in, fight, loud party, or even a stinking barking dog. That's right Beck.....if my quality of life diminishes in the slightest aspect, I will hold you accountable, Every Meeting, Every Day, Every Minute !!

I appreciate what the police do on a daily basis, but does there have to be a public announcement every time they do anything. With 7 detectives you could have a press release every day, oh wait a minute, they to have one or two every day. Give us a BREAK. When Chief Maher was in charge he didn't have to fluff his feathers every time someone did a good job, his recognition to the officer was enough, now that WAS respect
You must get your numbers from Mike Beck, you're off there bucko. There are 4 plus the Sargent.

They need to put out the releases to show what great work they are doing. They get so many complaints on a daily basis that they can not keep up on all of them, this shows that they are trying and in my opinion do a great job. If this is what they are catchin how much are they not getting. Just more proof that we need more officers. Keep up the good work LTPD.

I was at a high school party and my friend was drunk and he was talking to a girl that was drunk. The two decided to have sex, they both consented. However, the next morning, I guess the girl regreted it, and accused my friend of rape. He was arrested, booked, but was found innocent... but the damage was already done. He has to carry that on his back for a very long time. I guess what I am trying to say is that these situations need to be handled delicately. The guy always gets the bad wrap in these situations (I'm not saying the guy in this one wasn't a ***), but when there is alcohol involved things need to be looked at a little more thouroughly.

I am a close and personal friend of Judi Lund. I have witnessed the abuse and distrust that her finance has placed upon her. I personally was verbally attacked by her finance the day in question. He appeared drunk and making no sense while yelling at me. She was very embarrassed by his behavior.
In response to the comment that "why is she still with him?" Sometimes leaving is easier said than done, as we all know this to be a fact! Situations sometimes present themselves that make the easy solution an impossibility.
I love and support Judi and wish her the best with this situation and always in life!

And by the way, if you KNOW so much about me you would know that Rob was NOT involved. But like I said its all ignorance. I also want to say that this is really amusing for everyone that is reading this page because most of you are family and friends, to the ones that are not Its been a good laugh, Thanks. This truly shows how people act when they cant hide from their actions. And how they try to change the original point of view and put the focus on someone else in this case it is me. I ask anyone that knows me, to understand, I can chose my friends but I cant chose my family. Finally, if I am what you say I am, please enlighten me with any truth to your accusations.
Thank you Erik
PS every time I have written on here I have posted my name so sorry to disappoint you but the comments are from other people and not me. I have no reason to hide, unlike you. Sorry for you but I am not afraid to print my name.

The funny part I refer too is the writer saying that the Officer had something to prove. Does anyone in this state take responsibility for their actions or are they always looking to blame someone. To the commenter that posted on 7:54 obviously you have not the slightest idea of what you are talking about. Ok yes there is 2 sides to every story so lets talk about the two sides. You claim that this is just a bad moment?? Thats funny because im guessing 2 weeks prior was just a bad moment as well. This lady attacked one of my buddys at his own home and currently has charges pending if i remember correctly. And if it was just a bad moment why would she have attacked 2 other people in previous years as well. Also, I cant believe you would verbally attack the local police!!! How do you come to the conclusion the officer Fessler was being "Macho" and way out of hand where you there? Last time I checked it was an officers job to protect and serve. If she wasnt so out of hand and intoxicated then why was she arrested and taken to the police station where is states she still was out of hand? I cant wait till the day you need the local police and they come to your rescue then what are you going to have to say about them then? To make along story short before you go posting as if you know what your talking about you should get your facts straight!!
P.S. If you know "ALL" the facts enlighten cape may may county as to what these facts are.

First of all, there is ALWAYS 2 sides. It is a shame that people have nothing better to do than pass judgement on others. As a matter of fact, there were a lot of things leading up to the incident...including a funeral that day. Officer Fessler apparently has a lot to prove by being "macho" in his decisions on how to handle police activity. Anybody that knows this lady, knows she is not a bad person, her kids are well kept and good kids, and not at all abused...She is a local, but NOT local ***. Has anyone ever heard of the "let you without sin cast the first stone?" Everyone at some point in their lives has a bad moment. Why the newspaper decided this was "newsworthy" I am not sure. It definitely is not going to hurt the lady, but will definitley affect her kids. NOW, who is providing the abuse? Everyone should let it be...and look at your owns lives before you pass judgement.

Apparently, innocent until proven guilty does NOT apply to Cape May County or the Herald newspaper. Can someone define the difference between freedom of speech and defamation of character? Apparently there is none. Since when is it ok to print allegations, before someone is actually found guilty? Maybe the Herald reporters should contact both side before they print anything. Seems to me someone should look into the legal side of their reporting tactics.
(ED. NOTE: It is perfectly legal to print arrest reports, since they are public record. There is no indication of guilt or innocence, only that the charges were pressed. Ajudge will decide the person's ultimate disposition.)

When this officer was hurt the PD was handling a call that two black males with guns took the residents who came home inside at gun point and robbed them, I think we can all clearly see things are getting worse. More of the scum bags are moving in to our town, I know the Police are doing a great job, we all need to realize they also handle so many of the non emergency calls. There is no way anyone would even consider downsizing the Police, I have lived here for many years and want to see more officers hit the streets. We need to keep our town safe, realizing every town, every county has problems they all have drugs, theft etc. The point is we need to hit it head on, we need to put these scum bags in jail.

I think they are appreciated.Thats a part of the salary, the benefits and retirement they are given.Check it out its not a bad deal.I am not for downsizing or not hiring new cops.I hope whats best for this township will be kept in mind no matter who is in office. This post is not a slap towards the PD.I think we have great officers. They deserve the salaries and everything else they recieve. To say they are not appreciated is ridiculous..

We live in the worst county in South Jersey and it is growing far worse every day. All this tourist attraction marketing is a waste of money and phony hype covers up the true underside of our small communities, drugs, domestic violence and violent crime usually related to alcoholism and drugs. Those of us who still have money left after paying exorbitant amounts of tax money for shabby and dwindling public services, would do best to head for the hills" to states where it is safe to raise our kids, walk the roads, swim without severe injury, and not hear our neighbors fighting, screaming and partying all night.
