I cannot comment on the cause of either accident; however, this is often the answer to the question motorist have as to why cyclists are not riding in a straight line. It is because they must dodge road hazards a motorist are not even be aware of.

Thursday 5/01/08 9:37pm author is jealous. What does soldier deaths in Iraq have to do with an idiot clipping a roadside pole? Stop paying so much attention to what others do, have, and say and perhaps you'll find life a little brighter. People in Honda Civics don't ever crash? No one ever snapped a pole in an Escort? How do you know they're never hauling groceries, you can't see in the bed from the driver's seat of your Prius.

Where were your Camera's when a Cowboy in a Big Pick-up Truck severed a pole in Half 2 weeks ago at 2 AM, in North Cape May? What, my Safety, and my Neighbors weren't worthy of an article? You have Boys Dying in the gutters in Iraq, for Oil, and these Yahoo's fly around Looky Lookin, in these Big Pick-ups. If you look, they're not even hauling groceries, it's just a vehicle to show their Man-hood. Hay YaHoo's, grow up. Act Civil, you don't own the place, we're all just here a short while!

For the few who hoped the baby was fine, Yes he is. The baby was not left unattended but for a few seconds to answer the phone. FYI an infant can drown and become unconscious in the few seconds it takes to answer the phone.

Well, I agree... We all do make mistakes. What I would like to know is, how long was this child unattended? Obviously long enough that the child was unconcious and not breathing... Going to answer the phone was not long enough to cause this baby to be unconcious and not breathing. I can honestly say, I am not a perfect parent, and I do make mistakes, but I NEVER left my kids in the tub unattended when they were babies. Parenting classes are not going to teach these people common sense! Further more, what does living in the Manor have to do with this child being neglected? I mean lets face it, you could live in a million dollar home on the shore, and not have common sense when it comes to parenting.

WHAT DOES LIVING IN THE WOODBINE MANOR HAVE TO DO WITH THE SITUATION AT HAND? I HAPPEN TO LIVE THERE AND I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY CRACK HEADS YET. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE PARENTS NOT THE COMMUNITY BECAUSE WHAT HAPPENS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHATS GOING ON OUTSIDE. OK??

Maybe when the Woodbine Manor was built (reference the 5-1-08 comment), it was nice, but it sure wasn't nice in 1979/1980. The commentator who mentioned that decent young folks who have trouble getting subsidized housing is 100% correct. Whether at the Woodbine Manor, or anywhere else in Cape May County, young people of limited income are forced to live in substandard housing, or leave the County. This is because as the commentator alreday noted, the drones and drug addicts who know how to "work the system" sap all of the available resources. Cape may County is a wonderful place, but don't think about being young and poor, or old and poor, and living ther comfortably.

Woodbine Manor is not a run down dump. In the past three years the Woodbine Manor Apartments has been turned around and it is a quiet community for families to raise their children. In community living, such as apartment complexes, you must always stay on top and make sure any problems that take place are addressed immediately so outsiders do not try and take over a property with drug sales, violence, etc. Woodbine Manor has done a great job to make a safe community for their residents.

I think all the harsh comments are from what people have always know Woodbine Manor to be. It's almost always had a bad rep. And if you look back at say the last 10 to 15 years there has been a lot of so called "crack heads". But, from what I have been told 25 years ago it was a beautiful place to live. It had green grass, A nice little park. And it was for FAMILIES! And from what I understand that's what they are TRYING to do again. But, you just have to weed out the drt bags. Plus, as someone posted, people should get a chance. The only thing is, how many chances? There are so many families that do need help in Cape May County, that can't get the sub, houseing because of the "dirt bags" that can work the system and make places like the Manor run down dumps. That have the bad reps. And when some thing happens like that baby getting hurt EVERYONE wants to think the worst. Why? Because of the "crack heads the ruined for EVERYONE!!!!

WoW- look at everyone being judgemental. I know a woman who works for CARA, who's daughter nearly drown in their backyard pool. She is a young mother who bathed her daughter, and walked away for two seconds (leaving the child in front of the family television set, with her parents in the same room) to grab clothing for the child, and when she returned the child was gone. After discovering her child was missing, they looked everywhere to no avail. Later found her unconcious in the backyard pool. The mother revived the daughter, who sustained no injuries. I might add dyfs played a huge part in their lives for a while... ordering her to parenting classes. But in the end, no abuse or neglect was found, case dismissed. No charges were brought against her. Do not judge a book by it's cover. Somethings are not always what it seems.

Woodbine Manor has been cleaned up and is no longer the drug world it used to be, so whoever made the comment that it's Woodbine Manor has no clue what Woodbine Manor is about. Just because there is an accident such as this does not mean the parent s are crack heads. Hopefully nothing will happen to you and your family so that uninformed people can make rude comments, as in this article, about you We wonder why we have the problems we have in the world today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe all should stop judging. "Woodbine Manor" isn't what it used to be. Have you ever heard of young people just needing a chance, some where to start out their lives. Who can afford the cost of living on your own when your young. And as far of the stop re-producing comment. Come on, your mother and fater made you, maybe you were an accident not all children are accidents. Speaking of ACCIDENTS everyone makes them. It only takes a second to make one. Those making negative comments should all take a second and look at yourselves and ask "have I ever left my child alone in the tub for seconds to maybe go and answer the phone, answer the door or hell get a towel for drying off" Come on now. The Baby is fine and it was a MISTAKE. And don't worry DYFS is on the case causing HELL in the Parents lives, so don't worry. Remember next time that you make a mistake with your children, that you to are not perfect!!!!

Another note from Meghan's family...her death has impacted so many, many people. Just think a life cut short by irresponsible behavior. Families and extended families devistated by a chilling early morning phone call. A young step-sister just returning from overseas duty, planning to see Meghan next week for an upcoming wedding will never have the chance to hug her again. A grandmother not comprehending why it couldn't have been her instead. A mother, father, stepparents grieving from the shock. The siblings including a twin, who've lost a future with each other.
There is NO excuse for irresponsible behavior. How many others need to be killed because someone made a bad decision? He knowingly and willingly became intoxicated then got behind the wheel. The law should knowingly and willingly apply the justified punishment. No matter how sorry he may be, that will never bring back Meghan and the loss he has imposed on the family.

This is from the family...Meghan is my sister and we are all still in shock that this has happened. It is such a senseless tragedy and we are all devestated. My other sister Meghan's twin sister was set to get married in 3 weeks and this has over shadowed all upcoming events. Please pray for our family and sister, she was an amazing person who dedicated her life to helping others.

It is a shame that usually the driver walks away unscathed in DUI cases while the passengers pay with their lives. The woman's family should sue the crap out of the guy and any bar/restaurant that might be guilty!
