How does Wildwood elect a guy that has been pouring concrete for decades to run the city? A what does a guy that has poured concrete as a business know about running a city?

This is why most of this country is falling apart because actors, athletes and just people with money (Troiano's case) get elected to run things. If these people were about making a difference and knew politics wouldn't that be their FIRST career move?

Actually there is a lot of concrete involved in making a septic tank function.

I didn't realize they were the only two choices in the entire town.

At this time, that's all there is. Stick to what you think you know. VILLAS.

Wow, The hatred the Troiano posse has for Demarzo is epic.
At least Demarzo put the taxpayers first! That's something Troiano has never done. His first and only concern is family and friends, and what he can do for, or give them thru the city at the taxpayers expense.
A leopard can't change its spots, unfortunately there is no one qualified to correct all the wrongs in Wildwood. The best solution is for the state to come in and clean house, start the city over from scratch.

The mayor should be a one term for life arrangement. Its a public service, not a career.

Wildwood is building a budget around anticipated increased revenue from trying to sell land, building cabanas and selling booze on the beach.

Gov. Christie is building a budget around increased revenue from the AC casinos.

I'm building my next years budget around winning the Powerball lottery. Smile

If you win the Powerball, you undermine Christine, but then can buy the Mayor position! Win-win!

As the saying goes: You can keep some of the people happy some of the time, all of the people happy some of the time, and all of the people none of the time. It's the nature of the politics. Lower Township is a debacle, Middle Township is a debacle, Wildwood is a debacle, North Wildwood is a debacle, and the county is no different, not to mention the state of our state and federal government. Who could possibly straighten it out and who dare throw their hat in the ring?

Most mayor's are men/women whose careers are in business and are therefore thought to be political candidates because after all most of their jobs is to oversee the fiscal budgets of the municipalities. And now we have a businessman (albeit one time governor) in the form of Mitt Romney seeking the Republican nomination spouting off about his business acumen. Fact of the matter is, Mitt is a corporate raider, albeit very successful corporate raider. So, does that qualify him for the presidency? Please I am not in anyway trying to turn this thread into a thread about the presidential race. Just saying most leaders, be they mayors, senators, representatives, councilman, are usually businessmen or just lifetime politicians.

Here you go Herald...

If Troiano loses his job you can make this as the headline "Wildwood tells former concrete worker now mayor TO HIT THE BRICKS!"
