After getting hammered by his fellow Rep, rich guys about not releasing his tax returns, Mitt said today that his tax rate is around 15 percent. That's right...15 percent. He is a multi-millionaire raking in millions from previous takeovers--and bankrupticies--and his tax rate is only 15 percent.. How many of you middle-class Americans pay 15 percent on Fed income tax. Yea, and the Republicans are crying class warfare. 15 percent..no wonder he won't release his tax records.. Obama did......
Anybody want to defend Mitt? He hasn't created many jobs in the past few years (lie/spin) now has he? 15 percent. How many of you would LOVE to just poay 15 percent in fed income tax--and have the BEST health insurance moiey can buy?
Yep, vote Republican..saps

The thing about these corporate elitists is that they get to pretend they own the money they manage so then they pay only the capital gains rate. A working person pays a higher tax rate on income above $34,500.

This ad highlights that Romney's tax plan would cut taxes on billionaires and raise taxes on working people.

I liked it when he said that he made "some" money from speaking appearances, but not very much...$362,000 in a year.

Mitt is probably embarrassed that he is not a billionaire. When Lee Iacocca retired and moved to Vegas, he complained he was ashamed to be playing golf with billionaires when his wealth was only in the hundreds of millions.

How dare someone legally earn money and pay taxes on it! How gauche!

Taking yourself, your kids, your family, your hairdresser, and your "makeup artist" to Africa to go on safari while spending $412,000.00 of taxpayer money is the cool way!

http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-obtains-documents-detailing-the-cost-to-taxpayers-for-michelle-obama-s-family-trip-to-africa/

Over $400k to Send Michele, family, and hairdressers to Africa for Safari

Quote:
According to U.S. Department of Defense’s published hourly rates for the C-32A aircraft used for the trip, Judicial Watch calculated the total cost to American taxpayers was $424,142 for use of the aircraft (34.8 flight hours x $12,188 per hour). (The C-32 is a specially configured military version of the Boeing 757.) Other expenses – meals (off the plane), transportation, security, various services, etc. – have yet to be disclosed.
The passenger manifests confirm the presence of Obama’s daughter’s, Malia and Sasha on the trip. The two girls are listed as “Senior Staff.” The manifests also list Mrs. Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, and niece and nephew, Leslie and Avery Robinson, as well Mrs. Obama’s makeup and hairstylist (Carl Ray and Johnny Wright).

Chump change. Having failed to have the Clinton's arrested for the murder of Vince Foster, Judicial Watch now turns its investigative reporter loose on a black woman. I guess the creep that was peddling the Vince Foster baloney must have joined Vince in the hereafter as he hasn't been seen peddling his wares.

The issue is tax fairness. Why should working people pay a higher share towards taxes than the top one percent? And each Republican candidate for president who presented a tax proposal would further cut taxes on billionaires and raise taxes on working people.

doesn't matter whoever becomes prez the tax code is going to favor billionaires and punish the middle class. just about every person in the Congress is a millionaire, so how do you think tax policy is going to go? not as smart as the right wing loons or the left wingnutz on this forum but i think i got human nature figured. people tend to vote their own self interests, always have. and i assume always will. so please cops no more charts, graphs and links it serves no purpose. Wharton, you have got cojones. In the past, I made dozens of request for you to provide impartial cites to back up claims that you were making...and you didn't once do it. It was about that time that I wrote that you should stop tarnishing the great and noble name of Wharton.

Do you have a relative that went to Wharton?

Yet another campaign promise that obama broke. And while there are some english majors who will insist that its not "technically" a lie. We will have to come up with another term for it...got it! Its a "whoops, no countsee"! There, its just as easy to get these things right! Thanks Cops! Laughing

The Tax Policy Center released an analysis showing that, contrary to Romney’s rhetoric, the overwhelming majority of the benefits under the plan would go to the wealthy, while raising taxes on many low-income families:

For instance, about 20 percent of those in the $10,000 to $20,000 income group would get hit with an average tax increase of $1,000.

About one-sixth of those in $40,000 to $50,000 group would get a tax increase of nearly $800.

Almost every millionaire would get a tax cut averaging roughly $150,000. As a group, those making $1 million or more would receive nearly half the benefit of Romney’s tax plan.

1) The tax policy center is a liberal website and not an independent source. Its main source of funding is the American Bar Assn. Much like copsandrobbers it's ALWAYS in favor of higher taxes on the productive members of society in the pursuit of a "progressive" tax policy. eg. Tax used as social engineering to promote favored groups and punish unfavored groups as opoosed to funding the government.

2) The actual cite that you refused to provide would be here: http://mittromney.com/sites/default/files/shared/BelieveInAmerica-PlanForJobsAndEconomicGrowth-Full.pdf

3) "For instance, about 20 percent of those in the $10,000 to $20,000 income group would get hit with an average tax increase of $1,000. " is an absurd statemen and an outright falsehood. People earning in that range pay no federal income taxes and there is nothing in the listed plan that would impose a new tax bracket on them. There current tax rate is 0% and remains at 0%.

4) "Almost every millionaire would get a tax cut averaging roughly $150,000. " is an absurd statement that takes about 2 seconds of thought to discredit. A millionaire is a person who has assets of one million dollars. So anyone with a paid off home and a savings account or 401k with some money in it is going to start to get $150,000.00 checks from the federal government? Can you point out that link in the PDF?

Depends how you define millionaire. Do they mean assets or income? Here from context we see they mean income, your clever dodge notwithstanding.

Romney would be fine if he just said the tax system isn't fair and should be fixed. Can you blame him for following the unfair tax code? He would be on the same ground as Buffet then. As it is he sounds greedy and wants even more.
