What is certain: Capitalism is eliminating moral values, as Nobel economist Milton Friedman and capitalism’s philosopher Ayn Rand had been preaching to the generation. As Sandel puts it: “Each party to a deal decides for him- or herself what value to place on the things being exchanged. This nonjudgmental stance toward values lies at the heart of market reasoning, and explains much of its appeal.”

Inner city Dems have not had morals since Malcolm taught you that doing the right thing was a negative.

Most of the high crime areas are in the inner cities with all the social programs.

It is ironic that the socialists complain about the capitalists but then the socialists all want free housing in the neighborhoods with the capitalists. The socialists also support busing and diversity becuase they want to send their kids to school with the capitalists.

The reality is inner city Dems want to share the results of capitalism but are too lazy to put in the work.

What happens in the inner cities is of no consequence to the rest of the country. On the other hand, the morals (or rather the lack of morals) of those in Goldman Sacs, JC Morgan Bank of America, and the directors of hedge funds have a very great impact on regular folks.
And it has been all bad. And as sure as night follows day they will cause another crash soon driven by greed and a total lack of any kind of morals and the fact that government has been bought and paid d for. Hold on to your hat: it's going to be a bumpy ride.

You can thank your boy Clinton for pushing for sub prime lending.

If you are worried about the bankers you can always buy gold and store it under your mattress. Nobody is stopping you.

Privatizing the profits.

Socializing the losses.

Which party gives more to the poor?

My question is, which political party does more damage to the poor?

The answer to both is the same, both political parties give to the poor and also damage the poor.....and I would add the middle class.

At the Federal level, America no longer has a Democracy...it is run by Corporatism. Big Corporations, US Chamber of Commerce, multi-nationals and Corporate globalism now completely run America. Shareholders are now (and have been for awhile) more important than stakeholders (workers). The big Corporations have played Americans through both parties at the Federal level for some time. To the big Corporations who run America, it doesn't matter which party gets in control...they own them both and they will ultimately win.
Democrat control....no problem, lots of Free Trade Agreements with other countries to outsource American jobs to cheap labor countries, no unions, no worker rights, no quality control and huge profits. Also, insourcing of cheap labor to drive down wages through illegal immigration and expanded VISA's. In this way, the Democrat party "appears" to look out for the poor and middle class, when in fact they are helping destroy them.
Republican control.....no problem, lower high earners and Corporate taxes, more business write-offs and tax loopholes, less legislation to regulate business Fight to diminish and ultimately destroy unionization,so American wages will drop. Fight minimum wage increases and cut social safety net programs to reduce Corporate costs further.Maintain large and costly Federal military presence around the world to protect Corporate interests globally.

When has giving to the needy ever helped the needy?

The more we give the needy the less they do for themselves.

When you go to the park there is a sign that says, "Don't feed the water fowl." The park rangers put up those signs because they don't want the water fowl to be conditioned to live off of da man. The birds can find their own food but feeding them conditions them to stop providing for themselves.

Cuda, Very good analysis of our two main political government parties. You brought back memories of one of my Junior High school good social study teacher, back in the 70’s. It looks like same old thing is still going on today with both parties. Cuda my question was which party group gives more, to the needy? I realize that both give to the poor, Which one gives the most to the poor?

Max, My point was to show SC,that the Rep's give much more than the Dem's. SC, always complaints that the Rep's always make the most and never give. When the truth is that the Rep's give the most to the less fortunate. You may be correct ,that giving to some of these people does not really help them in the end, cause it just make them more lazy. You have to admit that some do lift themselves up,study, and work to be able to get themselves out of their despair. We need to weed out the one’s that continue to abuse this government system. If one is healthy mentally and is in physical good shape they should pull their weight and be productive in this country.

It's know as the reconquest. The Mexican-American war resulted in the theft of south Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. We have reclaimed much of that territory. Time and the polarization of US politics are on our side.
