For the next few weeks, www.CapeMayCountyHerald.com will be surveying its audience to better understand who is using the website and how they are using the website, as well as to gauge related interests and behaviors.
RIO GRANDE — The Herald uses a variety of analytical tools to assess website traffic. In recent months, these resources tell the Herald they have had over 100,000 (unique) visitors paying over 200,000 visits and viewing over 1,000,000 pages each month.
The Herald enjoys strong traffic across the board, but traffic has been especially strong for breaking news and features associated with the Shore Guide – Marketplace business listings and calendar events. The survey will supplement these traffic measures with information about audience preferences.
Herald Director of Development, Preston Gibson, said, “The better we understand our audience, the better we can serve them.” The Herald is one of several newspaper-based websites participating in the survey program, commissioned by the New Jersey Press Association.
The program is being conducted by Belden Interactive, a national online research firm.
Participants will be entered into a nationwide drawing for a $1,000 prize.
“However,” Gibson noted, “the sure payback for participating will be having the best possible local website. Our mission is to understand, inform and connect the communities we serve – everyone who lives and visits in Cape May County. We really appreciate our readers – in print and online, and we are counting on their participation to help support our shared mission.”
