COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Gerald Thornton is pleased to announce that the county will host a Medicare Part D education and enrollment seminar in Cape May County in Oct.
The Medicare Part D education and enrollment program, sponsored by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Aging, will take place from 10 a.m. until Noon on Tues., Oct. 18 at the Lower Cape Senior Center located at 2612 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Freeholder Thornton said, “The State Health Insurance Assistance (SHIP) counselors will provide assistance in choosing a Medicare prescription drug plan for 2012, answer questions about the prescription drug plan and assist seniors with the preparation of their enrollment forms.” Also, the presentation will include discussion on Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare supplemental plans and a discussion of special benefits programs for seniors.
Additionally, the presentation will include discussion on plan eligibility, how to choose a Prescription Drug Plan and how to enroll. The program is beneficial for both current and future Medicare beneficiaries.
The State Health Insurance Assistance (SHIP) is a statewide program administered by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Division of Aging and Community Services, with financial assistance through a grant from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Federal Medicare Agency and supported by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
