Motor Vehicle Agencies Reopen on Mondays

By Herald Staff

RIO GRANDE — Fear not, drivers, the state’s Motor Vehicle Commission pendulum has swung back. The office here, along with 38 other MVC agencies statewide, are again open on Mondays.
According to a letter sent by MVC Chairman Raymond P. Martinez, “Over the last several months, we’ve listened to customers about their service expectations at motor vehicles agencies. From the valuable feedback we received, the most frequent comments involved the issues of convenience and efficiency.”
He noted that the commission had “restructured service hours at all 39 motor vehicle agencies to better reflect the needs of customers. With nearly 10 additional hours per week, the MVC is now reopened on Monday, maintained evening service one night per week and kept the popular Saturday service hours that we recently expanded intact.”
Hours are: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A number of services are available via Internet at njmvc.gov, including vehicle registration renewal, driver test scheduling and suspension-related payments.
