LORD, JOAN M.

LORD, JOAN M. Joan M. Lord, 84, of Cape May Court House, NJ, previously of Goshen, NJ, passed away on October 25, 2023, in Cape May Court House, NJ. Born on December 1, 1938, in Lindenwold, NJ, she lived a vibrant and fulfilling life. Joan worked at Chelsea Title in Cape May Court House and attended the First United Methodist Church and The Lighthouse Church, both in Cape May Court House. She had a nurturing spirit and a heart full of love for her family. She explored her adventurous side through skiing, traveling to her favorite destination, Hawaii, and even gaming on her computer. Her endearing love for hummingbirds and the beautiful photos she took were symbolic representations of her zest for life. Joan had a special bond with her granddaughters Alyse and Summer. She thoroughly enjoyed her playtime with Dallas and always looked forward to spending quality time with her loved ones. She is survived by her son, Stephen R. Lord (Amy); daughters, Nancy J. Zimmerman (Ken) and Kathryn E. Ratcliffe (Christopher); siblings Jack Valleley, Carol Murnaghan (Harry), and Paul Valleley (Kay). Her granddaughters, Alyse and Summer Lord, will continue to cherish her legacy. Joan was predeceased by her husband, John Robert Lord; parents, Wesley and Gertrude Goebel Valleley, Sr.; sister, Ruth Shaw; and brother, Wesley Valleley, Jr. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor.
