Cape May County voters who worry about too much power being in too few hands should get to know Patricia O’Connor. She is running for Cape May County Commissioner. With a background in finance, extensive involvement in charitable causes, and a profound commitment to the future of Cape May County, O’Connor emerges as a candidate with broad appeal.

Patricia O’Connor has an unwavering commitment towards the pursuit of the common good. “It’s the 21st century, and we can’t keep governing as if it’s the 20th,” O’Connor said. “I’m confident that I can make a difference on behalf of all county residents.”

As a mortgage banker whose parents were labor leaders, Patricia knows how to get work done, and how to manage it. Her financial sophistication should help the county make wise decisions about how to operate.

O’Connor’s platform emphasizes smarter management of Cape May County’s assets to address pressing issues such as affordable housing, workforce development, natural resource conservation, and raising the overall quality of life in the county.

While raising four children she held responsible positions in the banking sector. She garnered a reputation as a skilled consensus-builder and dedicated team player. She holds an MS in management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a BA in economics from Rutgers.

Her extensive community involvement includes contributions to the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce and various service organizations throughout the county and region. She passionately advocates for charitable causes, particularly Autism Speaks, Philadelphia Eagles Autism Foundation, and Special Olympics, given her youngest child’s autism diagnosis and special needs. O’Connor also staunchly supports mental health initiatives, addiction intervention, veterans, women’s rights, and innovative educational opportunities.

To help county voters learn more about her candidacy, the O’Connor campaign will host events all over Cape May County during October. You can find the schedule on our website (www.oconnorcmc.com).
