Thomas Studios Offers Art Classes for Kids

VILLAS — Thomas Studios will be holding art classes for kids ages 8-12 years old beginning Wed., Aug. 11, 10-11:30 a.m. and continuing till Sept 1 at 1300 Bayshore Road next to Repici Real Estate and Boys n’ Toys.
The classes will be geared toward learning the fundamentals of drawing in a fun way. Each class will have a fun theme including a monster drawing class where kids will bring in pictures of different insects and animals (maybe their pets) and use different parts to create a monster.
Some other themes will include, self-portrait, draw the kid next to you making a funny face and a landscape of their favorite place or a place they went on vacation. The kids will be learning fundamentals like composition, how to shade an object from light to dark, how to use warm and cool colors to shape a subject.
Kids won’t need to bring a ton of supplies, only some drawing pencils, crayons or colored pencils, drawing pad, pencil sharpener and an eraser.
Class size will be limited in order to give each student some one- on-one time with the instructor. The cost for all four weeks is $45 or $15 a class.
