Jackson, Nanavati to Run for Freeholders as Democrats

By Joe Hart

COURT HOUSE — Bob Jackson, former West Cape May mayor, and Dr. Suketu Nanavati, a local cardiologist, are running as write-in Democrats for two open seats on the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders in the November General Election.
With the internal division within the Republican Party, Jackson wants voters to realize that it isn’t one’s party that should matter, but the “truth and honesty” they show.
“It’s finally being exposed. Voters are beginning to see that the Republican Party in this county is run by one or two people who determine they opinions of everyone else,” Jackson told the Herald.
He said that he would focus on rethinking privatization, taxes, the environment, flooding, drainage, roads and infrastructure along with truth and honesty in his campaign.
Dr. Nanavati told the Herald his main platform would be addressing the many health concerns that residents in this county face, particularly water quality issues and the highest cancer rates in the state.
“Everyone knows that there is a problem,” Nanavati said. “I intend to make it an issue in my campaign.”
