LESSBURG— A motorcycle traveling north on Route 47 was rear ended by a car on Sunday, Sept 13 at 4:37 p.m., according to authorities.
Belleplain Emergency Corps and Underwood Paramedics treated the driver of the motorcycle before he was airlifted to Cooper University Trauma Center in Camden by South Star medevac. The flight crew reported the patient to be a 46 year-old male with a broken leg and open arm fracture.
According to state police, a 2004 Toyota Corolla operated by Catherine Walker, 50, of Salem, struck the rear of a blue Harley Davidson 1200 motorcycle being driven by 63-year-old Edward Bennett.
Both vehicles were traveling north on the state highway.
Walker, who was not injured, was issued a ticket for careless driving.
The Leesburg Fire Department rerouted traffic around the scene for over three hours as state police accident investigators investigated the crash.
The accident is under investigation by, Trooper Jason Pasqua of the Port Noris station.
