OCEAN CITY — During the week of April 26 to May 2, Ocean City police responded to 624 calls for service for an average of 89 calls per day.
April 26, 2009: Sunday

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENTS:
• Ocean City Police would like to announce that our newest member of the Department graduated the K-9 Police Academy on May 1, 2009. “Deuce” and Ptl. Jon Vogt will be assigned to the patrol division.
• All Residents and Merchants are advised that the Ocean City Community Oriented Policing Unit will conduct security surveys of your home or business. The Officer will then be able to make suggestions about improving the security of your home or business based on his observations. Please contact the COP Unit at (609) 525-9108 to schedule a Security Survey.
• The Ocean City Police Department Tip of the Month: Neighbors are encouraged to take “Ownership” in their respective neighborhoods. They should report all suspicious activity to the police immediately. Citizens play a vital role in the success of police work and our ability to prevent and to solve crimes.
• Chief Chad Callahan and Lt. Rich Washart attended the Grand Opening of the ACME in Ocean City on May 1, 2009.
