North Wildwood Police Handle over 2,600 Calls in March

NORTH WILDWOOD — During the month of March, police here handled 2,627 calls for service.
Police answered two motor vehicle accidents, eight thefts, six burglaries, three fraud cases, one simple assault, one aggravated assault and three drug offenses.
Other incidents included 74 disorderly persons offenses, 11 malicious property damage calls, 268 traffic enforcement, 58 summonses issued, 35 medical incidents, three recovered stolen items, 13 animal complaints and the department responded to 41 false burglar alarms. There were two motor vehicle thefts, 41 persons were arrested which included 41 adults and there were four drunken driving arrests.
Police conducted 1,342 residential and business property checks and police assisted the fire department at 11 false fire alarms in March. North Wildwood police also assisted other agencies on 15 occassions.
There were three police personnel injuries and 664 miscellaneous services. Eight beach and boardwalk permits were processed and $6,483.50 in fee collections was forwarded to the city clerk.
Department personnel also attended seven schools during March.
