Thomas Joins Middle School Board, Money, Melchiorre Return

By Al Campbell

COURT HOUSE — Stephanie Thomas took her oath April 30 as a member of the Middle Township Board of Education at the organization meeting.
Joining Thomas as she took her oath from board Solicitor Amy Houck was husband Dr. Eric Thomas, and their children Alix, 13, Logan, 8, and Zack, 10.
Incumbents Andrew Melchiorre and Daniel Money took their oaths to return to the board.
Holding the Bible for Melchiorre was Dee Mills, his son in law’s mother.
Standing by Money, holding the Bible, was his wife Mary Money.
The board unanimously reelected Calvin Back as president and Dennis Roberts as its vice president.
For Back, being reelected board president is a tradition that dates to 1972, when he was first elected to the post. He has been a board member for 47 years, since February 1962, a month prior to the infamous March storm that wrought havoc along the Jersey coast.
Last year, Board Secretary/Administrator Walter Landgraf told the Herald that Back was the longest serving school board president in the state.
