Route 52 Causeway Construction Activity Requires Overnight Closure

By Press Release

TRENTON – Route 52 northbound will be closed to traffic from Ocean City into Somers Point this Tuesday night, June 21, NJDOT announced today.
Route 52 northbound, along the entire causeway, is scheduled to be closed from 8 p.m. until around 10 a.m. the following day. All work is weather-dependent.
The overnight closure is necessary to accommodate construction crews as they perform paving operations at the Route 52 intersection with Shore Road and Mays Landing Road in Somers Point, in connection with the $400 million causeway replacement project. The work has been scheduled for nighttime hours to minimize inconvenience to motorists.
Traffic will be detoured to the Ocean City-Longport Bridge or to the 34th Street Bridge.
Variable message signs on Route 52, Route 9 and the Garden State Parkway will alert motorists of the detours. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.511nj.org
