UPDATE: Avalon Woman Dies From Injuries in Rollover

SWAINTON — Middle Township Police were dispatched to the scene of a reported rollover with entrapment on Avalon Blvd., east of the parkway ramp on Tue., Jan. 4 at 3:13 p.m.
The driver identified as Marie J. Ferrell, 92, was in cardiac arrest at the scene and transported to Cape Regional Medical Center while CPR was in progress.
Ferrell was later transported via helicopter to Atlantic Care Medical Center in Atlantic City.
Middle Township Police spokesman Lt. John Edwards notified the Herald at 8:55 p.m. Ferrell had died as a result of her injuries at AtlantiCare.
Police said, Ferrell was driving east on Avalon Boulevard, when her vehicle went into the westbound lane, flipped over, before landing right side up in the meadow.
This is the second fatal crash police are investigating in Middle Township in less than 24 hours.
The crash is under investigation by Officer Leon Linthicum, Middle Township Police Fatal Accident Unit
and the Major Crimes Unit.
Also assisting with the accident were Middle Township Fire and Fire Police and volunteers from the
Avalon Fire Company.
