102nd Wildwoods Baby Parade – August 3

By Press Release

THE WILDWOODS – Some of the region’s cutest youngsters will stroll the Wildwoods Boardwalk during the Wildwood Civic Club’s 102nd Wildwood’s Baby Parade on Wednesday, August 3.
Registration for the parade begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Wildwoods Convention Center, located at Burk Avenue and the Boardwalk in Wildwood, where parents can register their children in one of seven different categories including Cutest Baby Boy, Cutest Baby Girl, Fancy Children, Most Original Children, Best Dressed, Costume and Floats.
At 6 p.m., the Parade will step off from the Convention Center and proceed North on the world-famous Wildwoods Boardwalk to 16th Street in North Wildwood – where awards and prizes will be given and Parties to Go will entertain the crowd starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Grand Marshal for the 2011 Wildwoods Baby Parade is Mr. John Lynch, Director of Sales and Entertainment for the Wildwoods Convention Center. In selecting the Grand Marshal, the Baby Parade Committee looked long and hard to find someone that is an ambassador of the Wildwoods community, embodies the spirit of the Wildwoods, is well-rounded, giving to the community, exudes a positive personality, and is a role model for the entire island. Mr. John Lynch, with his work in promoting the island, the Wildwoods Convention Center, Wildwoods businesses and the Wildwoods community, along with his work within the community including, but not limited to, the Lunch with Lynch Foundation and his many charitable endeavors, made him the clear choice to be named the Grand Marshal for the 2011 Wildwoods Baby Parade.
Miss Oceania, along with her court, will serve as the Queen of the Parade. Other special appearances scheduled for the parade include local dignitaries, Miss North Wildwood, the Phillie Phanatic, Elmo, Lighthouse Pete, SWOOP, McGruff, Sparkey the United Way Duck and Eddie the Eagle.
Participation in the Wildwoods Baby Parade is FREE.
Donations of new children’s books for grades Kindergarten through 8th are being accepted at registration and will benefit the Lunch with Lynch Foundation.
A complimentary trolley service will be available throughout the parade to transport participants between the parking area surrounding the Wildwoods Convention Center and 16th Street.
The rain date for the Wildwoods Baby Parade will be Thursday, August 4.
