“The RMS Titanic,” a display of memorabilia and information highlighting the RMS Titanic, an Olympic-class passenger liner that sunk on the night of April 14, 1912, during her maiden voyage are featured. The display is presented by Dawn Steelman of Woodbine during the month of May at the Upper Cape Library Branch, 2050 Route 631, Petersburg.

The Wildwoods, NJ – New Jersey Thunder Motorsports Inc will host the 16th Annual East Coast Boardwalk National Car Show, Thursday, May 8th through Sunday, May 11th. This four day, island-wide event, is packed from start to finish with activities that are sure to entertain the car lover in everyone. This isn’t your ordinary car show, Thunder Motorsports presents Custom, Classic, Street Rods, Antiques and Import Cars, all displayed on the last true American Boardwalk in the Wildwoods.

Come and discover the ins and outs of transparent watercolor techniques for both beginner and experienced students at a four day workshop that will explore basic color palettes, color mixing, basic strokes and techniques.

Spring classes for pre-schoolers will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays, April 9 to May, at the Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor. Children 4 years of age and older will learn about what’s happening in nature this time of year plus have fun with crafts, stories, activities, adventures in the marsh and more. Classes are 1 to 2:30 p.m. and cost is $60 for members for eight classes, $70 for nonmembers. Individual classes are $8 for members, $9 nonmembers. Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Call 368-1211 for information or to register.

The Avalon Chamber of Commerce and Fred’s Avalon Liquor store are teaming up to present a special evening at the Avalon Community Center, at 30th and the Beach, in Avalon. A big wine tasting event will take place from 7-10pm, with over 120 wines, vodkas, and microbrews available for sampling. There will also be special appetizers from the area’s finest restaurants. Tickets for the event are $40, and available in advance at the Avalon Chamber of Commerce, 30th Street and Ocean Drive, or at Fred’s Avalon Liquor Store at 2258 Dune Drive, Avalon.
