Location

The Fight Leukemia Fishing Tournament held every year out of Ocean City, NJ. It is an event to remember Chris Hagel an avid fisherman and surfer that lost his battle with Leukemia. The tournament raises funds to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of NJ. This years event kicks off at 7 AM, November 22. The fishing ends at 4:00 PM and is open to boats up to 3 nautical miles out, Absecon Inlet to Hereford Inlet, Wildwood, back bays and surf.

The CAPE MAY COUNTY ARMY NATIONAL GUARD ASSOCIATION will hold its yearly CHRISTMAS GALA on Saturday December 13th for all past and present military personnel who would like to get together for food and fellowship.

It will be on the second floor of the Old Grange Restaurant, 735 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring. A wonderful buffet including prime rib, stuffed shells and stuffed flounder is planned. Reservations are requested. This is a BYOB event.

Cape May Cares co sponsored by the Cape May Kiwanis Club is organizing a beach cleanup on Saturday October 25th, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Please come out and help us clean up our dunes for the winter. Summer is long behind us but, she left some trash behind in our dunes. As a community, it is important pick up where the city leaves off. We have a lot of wildlife that depends on our beaches through the winter and now it's denpending on you, to come out and clean it up for the winter. We'll be meeting on Beach Drive at Ocean St. in Cape May this weekend. Bring some gloves and some extra hands.

Join nature center staff members Gretchen Ferrante and Kim Hannum Wednesday, October 29 at 6:00 p.m. for an evening of Halloween fun at the “Pumpkin Fest and Campfire.”

Get in the spirit for the big day by decorating pumpkins with natural materials, making ecojack-o-lanterns and ghost faces out of old plastic milk containers, and enjoying ghoulish games like zombie tag and the head-on-a-platter relay race. No Halloween celebration would be complete without ghost stories, so come prepared to participate in our own chain gang ghost story while roasting marshmallows around the campfire.
