The Wetlands Institute is celebrating the 29th Annual Wings 'n Water Wildlife Arts Festival September 17th and 18th, 2011. The Festival will feature great art and some very exciting events. Visit the Avalon Community Hall to see nationally recognized exhibitors in Carving, Painting, Photography and Plein Air. Visitors will have the chance to buy original and limited edition works in all categories as well as personally meet the artists! Stop by the Chowder Contest and Quilt Show at St. Mary’s Church.

Beat the Heat! Come to the Zoo for a Snow Day! August 13 from 10am until 2pm. We have teamed up with the Snow Leopard Trust Fund and The Woodland Park Zoo for a one day Coast to Coast Snow Leopard Conservation Fun Day! This event is free and will have games, activities, face painting, as well as items handmade from Mongolia for sale. Come meet our newest Snow Leopard Cub. Cast your vote for what his name will be!
